inside the air vents are items that attch the vent to the dash , DO NOT TRY TO PRY THE WOOD OFF THE DASH TO GAIN ACCESS...

more on this later

ok witht he defroster panel off , there will be three screws in that area to remove ....7mm if memory serves

in each air vent there will be a relesing tab , seems like i used some very small needle nose pliers to get at them , get a light and look in there for them ...pull the tab and vents out , youll leave the wood trim beind ,dont touch the wood trim ....

with the vents out there will be one 7mm bolt in each hole where the airvents used to be

now with all bolts removed and fromt he passenger side pull the dash pad towards you and up ....watch that you dont mess with that passenger airbag too much when doing this , dont wanna tear any of that ..

factory manual says nothing about diasbaleing SIR , i didnt when i removed mine , nothing to get introble with up there anyway , just keep in mind that passenger bag is pretty expaosed when you have the pad out , you really dont wanna touch it or anything because you might mess up how it will come out if (god forbid) it should ever need to deploy ...
