Just bought my first Cadillac!:alchi:

It's a '79 Coupe DeVille with a 425 (7.0L) big block!:worship:

I want to gather as much information on this car as I possibly can!

Pros/Cons/Downfalls/Possible Problems and remedies for such problems.

My car has 121,xxx kms on it and is in pretty good shape other then some rust blisters and a bad trunk lid.

It runs and drives very nicely (As all Cadillacs should;)).

The only thing I don't like about this car is the Rottenchester 4 burper that's on it.

Now I'm a hardcore Mopar guy but I have always had a soft spot for the Cadillac.

Could I stick a Thermo-Quad on there?:D

There's nothing wrong with a Q-jet. Get it rebuilt or get a rebuilt one and it will run fine. You will never get as good gas mileage with any other carb.
As for the rest of the '79, they're great car! Not too much to worry about, except basic maintenance. If it has much over 100k miles, the timing chain could be changed.
