I drove from Boston to Montral and back. Well today I drove around 350 miles and then I get into the city and all of a sudden my temperature starts to skyrocket then warning lights come on and Sh*t hits the fan and it starts to smoke so I pull over. The temperature reached around 250-260. I look it over and realise the fans aren't working at all and it looks like the top right of my radiator cracked and sprayed coolant everywhere. So I let it sit for like an hour and a hlaf cooling down. Well I filled the coolant back and and drove it home. The drive was about 2 hours at 55 mph. The car drove normal and the temp. stayed at 197-206. Do you think the fan is the culprite? Also is the "camal" mode only with the new N*?
My son has a 97 deville that has cracked the right tank sure makes a mess will be replaceing the rad, and engine.cant say about other cars overheat as i drive only northstars. one or both fans not working will sure cause overheat at low speeds. sts96
Camel mode is in all Northstars. I forget at what tempurature it kicks in but you where pretty damned close. Radiator side tank is replaceable seperately. No need for an entire new radiator. Fans may be a seperate problem or the relays may have gotten wet.

Yeah it looks like the relay's got wet because the fans worked this morning. Upon actually having a mechanic look at it, it was the water pump. So I'm going to finish replacing that tomorrow morning. I already started but ran out of time since I had to wait to get the stupid tool, another 65 bucks I have to add to the total to fix it. Do you use Dex-cool in it or regular silicate free stuff? I see all data calls for dex-cool, but the radiator cap just says silicate free.
Use Dex-Cool. It is silicate free.
