I have a 2004 Escalade with navigation. It uses the thumb joy stick for moving around the screen. I am planning on getting a 2006 CTS for my wife. How does the use and fuction on the navigation in the 2006 CTS compare to the 2004 Escalade?

I haven't used both, but the joystick can take a little longer to navigate through menus. This is what I have heard from friends who have the Acura navigation with a similar joystick design. It is like comparing the keyboard shortcut with a mouse operation. The keyboard shortcut is always quicker. However, you have to memorize the buttons. This can get tricky, but if you practice, it becomes second nature. I communed with my 2006 CTS for four hours the first night. It was good for both of us.
