I've been thinking about upgrades for my CTS and does anyone know of a short shifter for our 6 speed?

havent heard of one as of yet, the bmr is for the tremec 6 speed in the V's. i dont think theres enough of us yet for anyone to begin fabrication

I've been asking about the same thing, and have found nothing. I cars past I've been able to modify parts from a similar shifter (same Co) but I cant seem to find another car that Aisin builds a 6spd for.

Thanks for that link. I looked a bit for short shift kits for some of the other vehicles, but didn't find anything. I'll look more later, seems like there must be something.

But iam 99% sure thats for the 5 speed and not the 6. Nothing for the 6 speed, i would think there would be somthing for the Holden Commodore but then i dont know if we could get that in the US. And i dont think one for the toyota trucks would work in a car.

v8 model uses the t56 tremec and 3.6l v6(same global v6) uses aisin 6 speed.

That looks like the HSV Monaro/GTO short shift. I was looking at that site when I was thinking of getting a GTO. The Commodore is probably our best bet for a short shifter. The search continues......

So far i havnt had any luck. Seems that B&M makes a shifter for the older 5 speed. I might try to get ahold of them to see if they have anything in thw works for our 6 speed. I did learn that the Commador SV6 is the model that has our trany in it.

I've bought shifters from these guys before, and they were beautiful quality. I asked them about any plans for our 6-spd, here's all I heard back:

TWM, who are they? Never heard of them. B&M makes shifters for tons of cars and they are great parts for little cash so i hope they'll make one for us.

I haven't checked in on this in a while because my car has been in storage, but has anyone been able to find a short throw shifter for our 6spd trany yet? the new cts uses same exact 6spd trany so there seems like there should be somehting out there by now?

I'm pretty sure the B&M shifter that I have works for both CTS-V and CTS. There are a couple different pieces included in the kit that specify that they're only for when you're installing in a CTS. I tossed them and just used the V pieces.

Well, it looks like the 2008's have a shorter throw shifter, not sure how much shorter, but I guess its the only option I've seen, to but a new shift link for a 2008. Probably a bit costly, but if it were truely a short shift it may be worth it. If I just new what it looked like I could make one now, it think. I don't know if its just a post, or some sort of linkage?

I contacted atlantic speed and they said their short shifter fits the V and regular CTS. Heres a link to the ebay ad.
