:bomb: 94 deville left key on after changing and checking turn signal light on pass side back. after that had to jump car battery was dead. had to change fuse in trunck to ipc after that every thing works except ipc help cant see how fast i'm going ect.

doesnt sound good ...check every fuse in the car and get back to me ..lets make sure nothing else is down that may inhibit IPC operation

also ensure the knob for the dimmer is turned to the right to the point just before the dome lights illuminate ...

push (and hold) off and warmer , tell me what happens , among other things this will give us a segmet check of the ipc

08-20-05, 04:35 PM
checked every fuse with meter just to be safe. Off and warmer lights up the service soon lite and gos off when auto is pushed.pannel is blank so no codes flash. its like a blown fuse not sure where else to look even checked maxie fuses in engin compartment and all in trunk. originally ipc fuse was blown in trunk. all other operations working.air-heater turn signals ect.

sounds like the ipc took a hard lick ....seems like we have a vendor here that deals in IPC restorations/repairs

since you did the off and warmer test that tells me we cant blame the dimmer for the issue

jumping is very hazzardous to todays cars

Is that pretty much remove ipc and send it for repairs?

08-20-05, 05:13 PM
thats what im thinking

08-20-05, 05:15 PM

i would send him an email and see what he can do ....i havent used him yet myself but he looks like a good alternative to finding a new one

Would junk yard unit be ok or repaired the best way to go

08-20-05, 05:59 PM
if you can test a junkyard unit to ensure it works then go for it ....but thats the problem .....most cars there have dead batterys or no batterys ...or the ipc has been removed , and jundgeing by the fact you had to jump it i dont thinky ou have a jump start box ....

if the yard offers a warranty , or can allow you to test go for it , if they do boath for you , DO IT...and know you found a good yard

Is there a power source that serves just icp other than the fuse in the trunk?

08-21-05, 02:24 PM
i got the manual out to check , according to it there are 3 fuses that feed the IPC , 2 of them are in the trunk , "a-5" (powered at all times)and "b-5"(powered in run) boath of which are 10 amp , then there is another 10 amp under the hood in position "a-3" that only has power in run

Hi Everyone in Caddy Land,
As like most I have a queston. My 94 Sedan Deville trunk lid will not close automatically. I checked the fuse and it was okay. Also, my antenna won't go up or down. I unplugged the circuit so it wouldn't burn out. The beauty, she's a gettin' worn out eh!
