View Full Version : Replacing stock base seats with heated and powered seats. Devil_concours 08-19-05, 07:24 PM I was browsing through ebay looking for cts parts, i noticed a several black seats and thought those would look good in my car even if my interior isn't black. So that got me thinking i can drive my parents f250 and pick these up for under 400bucks including gas. Since i got a 1sa (sadly, dealer mistake but got a hell of a deal) i can put these seats and be closer to what i should have gotten.
To make things short, how easy will it be to switch these seats? I noticed that my passenger side has electric wires underneath the seat. Does this mean this is going to be a plug and play? What about the heated seat function? Do i have to get a new hvac control unit for it? SdMarineGuy 08-19-05, 08:27 PM I didnt even know that the CTS came without power seats until I got a loaner 2006. How do I tell if mine is a 1sa or whatever other codes are out there. Devil_concours 08-19-05, 08:35 PM I didnt even know that the CTS came without power seats until I got a loaner 2006. i think driver's seat is all powered and passenger is not Even if the power wires are not there you only need to run 1 wire for power. In one of my past cars I installed power seats from a completely different model car and it was not difficult.
The only thing that you will loose with the CTS would be the memory settings since the controls would not be installed. Its a useful feature if more than one driver share the same car when the seats and mirrors adjust depending on which remote control is used to unlock the doors but if you are the only driver it should not make much of a difference. Depends on the year, but generally speaking in GM lingo, the lower the letter in the alphabet, the more goodies your car has.
For 2004's 1SA was base model with 3.2L engine and manual, 1SB was Base with 3.6L engine, and 1SC was 3.6L with lux and sport packages.
For 05' the 1SA is the 2.8L, 1SB is the 3.6L and 1SC again, 3.6L With lux and sport package.
Another example is the STS, 1SA is the base V6, with 1SG being the loaded V8, ultimate lux performance superduper anything you can do I can do better I can do anything better than you model.
Should be in your contract info, what model it is. Devil_concours 08-20-05, 05:55 AM Depends on the year, but generally speaking in GM lingo, the lower the letter in the alphabet, the more goodies your car has.

How about the rear seats? Can you find those in black to match? Hey, if you do look for fold down rear seats. That's a handy PDF file. I saved it on my desk top beside the PDF CTS Parts List. Thanks for sharing.

Thought about it. Is it a 'done deal' that the avatars will no longer be under the forum name or has Sal just not completed everything in the changeover to the new servers?
