I have an outfit that will make a hood for the V. They need 15 or more peices.
What I need from all of you is a concensus (yeah right)!!... on the type of 'look' NACA, cowl, ram, extraction. etc any pics....? Its priced 'right' and is as nice below as it is on top. They can also incorporate 'ram air' over the air box.

Let me know what you think.

We've kicked this idea around in another thread but never came up with a design that we could agree on. Some liked the aggressive look while others wanted a refined Cadillac look. Our airbox is at the very front of the engine bay so for it to be functional would be somewhat difficult. I saw where you V guys suggested a Z06 type intake from the front of the hood. That has some merit.

There is also the cowl type like the new sts which is my personal favorite. Im thinking two undersides for the same top. One for the CTS, one for the V. The option would be looks and /or function. This outfit has some sweet glasswork.

I'd be in for a STS-V hood if the price wasnt to much, also kinda depends on when we'd have to fork over the cash.

Yeah, this looks good! It appears to be non-functional??
How much $$$:hmm: If to much, maybe 1/2 of the hood?

Im guessing by their other hoods we are in the $6-700 dollar range. The specter hood is $1300+.I am going to see if we can get it in cowl induction. We dont need the bump on the CTS so that will give us some clearance to fool around. Im thinking two undersides, one for the V-6 one for the V8. The company is in texas so we will need a V-6 volunteer..

I wonder if the new hood will have clearance for the Z06 Tower Brace on the 3.6? Not enough hood clearance now.

If its 6-700 bucks and we can pay sometime next month iam in for sure for the STS-V style. Oh and for kicks i've been working on chopping a pic of the CTS i'll be getting...i added the hood to it, its not that good but it will give you an idea of what it might look like.

Thanks! I've only been working with Paint Shop Pro for like a week now, still figuring everything out. My mom is gona kill me....cause this hood will have to sit in her garage till i get home lol. I have a feeling iam gona have a few grand worth of parts waiting for me...and the CTS...when i get home. Well i really hope we can get this going, when the STS-V came out i thought, why didnt the CTS-V get that hood too????

Design following functionality I guess, the CTS-V didn't have a supercharger shoved into the engine compartment, so it didn't really need that hood.

This would be a limited production run of 15 minimum. So that explains the $700. I don't think there will anything near the needed 15 orders necessary.
The only reason I say that is this is the second attempt. But it would be nice.
lasstss, you got any pics of the guy's work?

Exactly, that is what I am banking on. I had the specter hood ($1300) and sold it. Any of you texas guys might want to check this outfit out. I have no problem with that. If we get a design nailed down, I can send him a factory hood for a mule. They are only $300 from cadillac.

Now dont go hounding the crap out of this guy, he was still happy when I spoke to him last and interested. He did mention that 10 would be the minum. Then again, he could still sell a few besides forum members.
