Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on a UUC Short Shifter? I see it available on their site for $399 but I recall others stating they paid less. Any advice is greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!

GreyFox 08-22-05, 02:06 PM Look at the B&M unit. It's a lot less money.:bouncy: Staxxin 08-22-05, 05:03 PM GreyFox - How's the B&M for interior noise? For example, I heard the Katech was very noisey and a lot of people removed it and went the UUC path. Any info you have the B&M, is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!! Any info you have the B&M, is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!! Staxxin I have the B&M shifter. There was alot of interior noise initially. I put dynamat around the shifter and the connecting linkage and the vibration noise was reduced greatly. Can only hear it when the radio is off. I will say that after having the rearend replaced last week, my wife drove it and she says there in no more noise. Don't know if the dealer made any adjustments to the tranny to remove the rest of the noise. I do like the way it shifts. Firm, not too notchy. DeputyDog 08-22-05, 08:51 PM Staxxin Sorry for the butting in. I realize you were asking GF, but it thought I would give you my evaluation. Just my .02. Staxxin 08-22-05, 09:19 PM DeputyDog - No apologies necessary. I appreciate your input. I have to admit that I am a bit concerned about the cabin noise. Is the UUC plagued with similar behavior? urbanski 08-22-05, 09:26 PM DeputyDog - No apologies necessary. I appreciate your input. I have to admit that I am a bit concerned about the cabin noise. Is the UUC plagued with similar behavior? nope DeputyDog 08-22-05, 09:37 PM Staxxin Don't believe so. I have read some threads on here about why the UUC doesn't have cabin noise, but I can't remember where. Someone hear might be able to tell you where to find that thread. Florian 08-22-05, 11:21 PM had the Katech, tossed it....wayyyy too much noise. Have the UUC.....all is quiet on the North Coast front. F DILLIGAF 08-22-05, 11:48 PM I paid the 295 for uuc shifter,I would do it again for 399 and never look back. rand49er 08-23-05, 12:27 AM :banghead: Wish I had bought at 295. Say, why can't I see UUC's shifter for the V on their website?:hmm: 3rdstreet 08-23-05, 02:55 AM I have the B&M and had a similar experience as DeputyDog...after putting in the Dynomat around the shaft...all is good in the hood. jimbo1320 08-23-05, 11:35 PM I have a B&M and really like it. I was real nevous about the noise. Thought that would be all I would hear. Not a problem. Tight tolerances mean some noise is bound to be transmitted. The factory said to grease it up real good. I did. Instal was a pain. Not much room under there. $224 from Summit.Good luck. DeputyDog 08-24-05, 12:10 AM :banghead: Wish I had bought at 295. Hope this helps. | |
