Well...i've had my car, for almost two months now...lots of light but key mods were added to the car. It moves,...well. Anyhow, since i've owned it, i've noticed the brakes, getting dotted, or patchy blotches , or better known as heat spots.

Well, last night, as me and another vette were venturing into the world of 140mph cruising speeds...and several high speed shootout test, which I am proud to say that my car, which weighs about the same as a new C6, runs dead even on the highway through the gears....DEAD EVEN. I also had a 250LBS passenger in the car. Anywho,..obviously alot of high speed braking was takeing place. I get off the highway,...stop at a freinds house.....then....

squeek squeek squeek squeek squeek........ the whole way home.

Time for some slotted rotors...:sneaky:

I'm assuming you have a CTS-V?

If so... a C6 corvette weighs 3245 lbs... and a CTS-V weighs.. 3850 lbs... how does it weigh the same? unless you're talking about a whole different car.

Plus... regarding brakes... high temp brake fluid, stainless lines, and PADS are the key before venturing into slotted or cross drilled rotors, light aluminum monobloc calipers and brake venting... if you can do it all.. do it all...

Funny you wrote this today.

I have a small stretch of road I usually hit about 140 MPH (indicated) at will, normally I have to carry speed into the turn in corner to get 140 MPH by my normal braking point. I didn't carry as much as I would like last night and still pushed to 140. I got on the brakes VERY hard last night (you could smell the cat urine scent right away, and still when I got home). I didn’t notice any squeaks today while driving into work though.

I believe V-series is speaking of his C5 - but I've been wrong before :nono:

I think he has a C5 (from previous posts), correct me if I'm wrong.

no your both right,...C5.

Yeah DIG,.... i know what you mean but,..we were going for some time, ya know. Usually its for a minute or three,...this was HIGH speed blasting for, atleast 35-40minutes, non-stop.

I will say, no brake fade, what so ever. NONE. No indication of pulsation,..just big ass heat marks...and the squeeking when driving normal.

To top it off,...I have an exhaust leak. THIS SUCKS!!!!! as it makes my car sound like a truck.

Anyhow...it's always something.

To add to that list of stuff...I have valve spring problems.
$$$

So, now I have to buy brakes, a full valve train(cam of course),..and get this friggin X pipe made.

:bomb:

Nope...C5. Actually, it's a Fixed Roof Coupe....which is pretty light.

Your right about the brakes man.....I know all about it...just expensive.

A squeaking noise when you're not applying the brakes? Doesn't seem like a brake issue  Wheel bearings?

I like that it makes sense for most people.

One might think that. But what it is, is the thin metal "WEAR INDICATORS" ...

There rubbing,..and well, therefore causing the noise.

They have been through hell. Number one, i'm retarded..I like speed in general, therefore, everywhee I go,..I speed.

Number II....i've been to the autocross once,..and about 10 passes at the drag strip. :lildevil:

I bet it does. When am I going to Ohio?..... Well, I was born in Cleveland,..so...i'm about due for a return trip.

Your truck goes tens, right? At what MPH does it trap at?

I'm ordering a cam this week, as radical as I can go...so, I should be all over anything that is trappin' around 120 in the traps. Granted, I won't be able to put the power down just yet but, a SPEC stage III clutch and flywheel, DTE BRACE, and drag radials will take care of that(which I should be able to have in about two weeks).

I ain't scared pimpin :lildevil:

and if I can't do it,..then I have a 9 second Z06 trapping in the high 130's, low 140's on call. So....:want: :bonkers:
