I read in a previous post that the 500, 472, and 425 had the same block. So all that was different was the cylinder size?

What transmission was in the 1975 Coupe DeVille?

Also, does anyone know of a good site for Cadillac burnout videos and stuff? I saw that T-56 Cadd which I liked, but are there any cool burnout movies?

yes, the 500, 472, and 425 are all in the same engine family. I believe the tranny in the '75 was a th400-(turbo hydromatic).

Yeah the 500/472/425/368 are all pretty much the same block with differant bore and stroke setups. The blocks will interchange pretty easily, but if that 75 CDV is yours you already have the biggest one. And yeah it's the TH400. I know of only one Caddy burnout video on the entire net (there are probably more but I only ran across one), and it's on this page: (It's a 4800 pound 72 SDV doing the burnout no less)

While the 368/425/472/500 engines are similar, there are differences.
The '68-'69 472's were all alike (had smaller oil passages than the later blocks).....the '70-'74 472 and '70-'76 500 blocks were all alike.
I don't know much about the 425's and 368's but I've heard that the 425's had a much lighter casting.......some of the metal was removed to make the motor lighter.

The 425/368 blocks were alot lighter
you can load a block in a pickup no problem by yourself
the early 472 blocks with smaller (supposedly) oil passages are not really that much different than the newer blocks and the smaller passages actually create more pressure.
volume on a cadillac has never been a problem.
the 70-76 blcks all had bore notches to clear the rods on the 500 inch engines
if you can find a 368 and plan on doing alot of swaps they make a good plug as they are easy to move around
with the eception of the eldorados all 500-368 cars had a th400...thank god

i should took some burnout video's before i bought new tire!! now i'm gonna have to rotate my tires before i replace the fronts. burnouts look ok, but i got a few sweet smokey doughnuts right before i bought new rear tires. Maybe that's why i needed new tires.......
