Dial up beware.

The GTO dominates on the drag strip, which is where the GTOs of old always shined. For my 33k I'll take the GTO.

I would definitely have to agree with you on the GTO. Between the two, the GTO has the advantage, for what we all know both of these car's would be used for (Drag racing). Sure you can go Autocross your STi at Limerock on the weekends, but who does that? I know plenty of people who take their GTO's to the drag strip.

It is an known fact that Edmunds has been sold several years ago
to an entirly new group of 20-somethings and that the publication
is 100% pro-foreign car. In it's annual Edmuns 20 best, in every
catagory they named the best 3 models either German or Japanese
over any American brand. Only in full sized V-8 trucks did they give
the nod to Chevrolet as there was NO competition. With the newV8 Japanese full sized truck, you can expect Chevy tolose next time.

It's important to remember, that Edmunds is a Pricing guide ANDthat is where they got their start, in 1964. Rating cars was never their forte, and they
are resting upon their laurels as a pricing guide to bring creedance to
their OPINIONS as to what cars are best. They are not professinals
in that arena. They are a price guide. Remmeber that !! Sorta like
if the well known & respected Beech-Nut Baby Foods began rating
lawnmowers.

Since it's too far from SoCal, not me.

BUT!!!

The transition from the 22e to the 605n is not a straight line, and not many people have the b@lls to push past 80!!

And a drive up PCH to Santa Barbara provides some fun twisties.

That said, I don't really like either car enough to fork over 33grand for one.

I'd take the V8 powered car just about every time.

But I agree with HRS, I think I'd drop my $33k on something else.

What about a slightly used C5 Z06? I know I could go for one of those.

Yeah those ones..hehe. You give me a supercharger, or nice twin turbo setup, and a good set of slicks, and I'll take on a new Z06. BRING IT!! :burn:

Yeah, a Corvette is a Corvette man. It just isn't a Mustang.

I like the new Mustang, very cool looking, but it ain't no sweet two seater Corvette!
