hey all, my stock exhaust tip is full of crap on the outside of it, previous owner must have had something against cleaning it along with the rest of the truck when washing it. Do you think i can just order the stock replacement tip, or should i just have an exhuast place cut that one off and weld on a different one? I also saw some stainless steel tips that have some sort of resenator in them at fleet farm, don't know how that would look or sound though. any ideas??

You got something against cleaning it, too? :D Grab a scrubby-sponge from the kitchen-cleaner aisle and a bucket!

Now, of course, the sheer magnitude of a job like that would be the perfect excuse for me to go buy some aftermarket parts - "Well, honey, it needed to be replaced anyway, so... look what I got!"

That's how I keep myself out of the doghouse! :halo:

it's not cleanable, otherwise i would have done it. i would have to take a dremel or something of the sort at this point, it's not worth it.

I know, I'm just bustin' on ya. :D Like I said, though - no better excuse to replace the whole damn exhaust - it was sounding funny, anyways, right? ;)

alrighty, since you doubted my abilities, i decided to try cleaning it. Took a buch of jb blaster and wd-40 and a scotch brite pad to it. Cleaned up to the point tha ti can tell it's basically a ruff cast other than the rim of the tip, that i cleaned and now just have to polish out. the rest looks like cast stainless or something.
