Ok guys.. while I was at Moore Cadillac at Tysons Corner talking with Damian about mods on my V... there comes a BRAND SPANKING new black STS-V driving down a ramp... what an awesome looking vehicle. The service guy driving it was nice enough to do a burnout and boy did it sound good. Too bad Dado wasn't driving it

and that's exactly why NONE of us trust dealers
hope the schlep buying that 70K car enjoys the fact it was beat on already

edit: maybe it was just a slight chirp...after all they are a supporting dealer, don't want to criticize too much...but really now

If you think any car you have purchased hasn't been beaten on, you're wrong. I worked for the railroad years ago, unloading fords and volvos, and we beat everything. MHP 5.0 s got thoroughly trounced. No matter how big or small, cool or not, those cars took a minute of punishment.

Am I to assume that the STS-V is currently available? Can you get some pics?

The STS-V is not for sale. it was/is a GM test car that a car maginze had wrecked. this is no way a cust car nor a car that is for sale.

The most important question:

How bad was the wheel hop!

i don't think any of the sts has reported any wheel hop. My mom's sts is awd and i haven't had any wheel hop in her car yet.

He means how bad is the hop in the sts-v non an awd sts...Big difference.

i'm just saying that most sts owners including rwd sts owners haven't complained about the wheel hop nor did i experience them in my mom's sts. There is plenty of torque for the rwd sts to hop. Even my regular 3.6l cts hops and there is literally no one complaining about wheel hop

Hey guys, my bad... I should have said the STS-V was not for sale. Moore is a class act. My intent was to let everyone know this is one hot looking car.

Mark my words, there will be no hop in the STS-V. The STS-V auto trans makes a huge difference.

auto trans in the cts didn't help with the hops.

I had a revelation several years ago at the Arlington Assembly plant. I was watching Fleetwoods and Impalas come off the end of the line and IMMEDIATELY, the guys would jump in the car and do a burnout over to the dyno/calibrators/tuning stations.. whatever you call them. They would then hook up the car to the computer via the underdash port and run the living hell out of the car for a couple minutes.

A burnout at the dealership ain't hurtin nothing.
