I am thinking about putting on the corsa cat back system, anyone have this and is it loud inside at cruising speeds. I currently have just magnaflow muffler and is annoyingly loud inside.

Also am thinking about an intake. Any suggestions? I hear AEM is good? Can you hear the intake?
Thanks

I have Corsa sport on my 03 EXT, most others here
went with the touring version. The sport is LOUD, but
thats the way I like it. At WOT you know I'm coming.

Most people here have the Corsa Touring exhaust on theier Lades. The touring version has much less cabin noise than the sport version. The Lade has enough compression to make a lot of noise through any sport muffler.

I'll spare you the extensive search on cold air intakes. That topic has been beaten to death on the forums. Basically you'll find that people have tried every intake under the sun (I myself tried the K&N) and the one thing they ALL have in common is they drastically increase intake noise. Any HP gain or mpg improvement was negated by the overwhelming noise of the K&N. Some people report the Volant is quieter at slower speeds but become very noisy at WOT.....this is exactly how the K&N behaved though.

The bottom line on intakes is they will ALL increase cabin noise, which most people find undesirable. If the extra noise is worth some gain in performance to you, then by all means. If you're trying to minimize noise and maximize HP gain then just put a drop in K&N in the factory intake box. Hope that helps.

I have an 03' with Corsa Touring, Volant intake and reprogrammed computer, runs very good, nice exhaust sound without being too loud, you will get some noise if you put the pedal to the floor. :)

go with a Gibson dual exhaust if you dont want it loud in the cabin. for the intake, i went with Dub-Air. you hear the intake only when you're at a high rpm.

Did you notice a increase in mpg with these mods?

I put mine on the first week or two of purchasing the truck, but you probably will not get much if any MPG gains, but you will get performance gains. ;)

I have the K&N system and I can say there is a very noticeable difference in throttle response and power, and yes noise. The noise is present when the engine is under load, it is a resonance not unlike many older exhaust systems that can be annoying for that 1-200 rpms, especially when climing grades. I find WOT is right where it should be sound wise- It makes the truck sound very healthy. The resonance only occurs when you give enough gas to accelerate, but not downshift- causing more vacume.

I took off the K&N elbow and replaced the stock elbow with its funky chambers- this yeilded zero resonance- the noise was completely gone, so was some throttle response. There was a noticable decrease over the full system in power and response, it was still far ahead of stock- just not as good.

For Long Island which is very flat I run the K&N elbow since I am rarely in that annoying vacume band, when I go out off the island, I put the stock elbow back on for the hills, it takes five minutes.

I cannot stress enough though how much better the trucks runs with the full system on, it feels like a beast (and acts like it)...
