Just figured I would post some picks of my 2014 ATS that I had partially blacked out w/ plasti-dip in case someone was thinking about having it done. I left a chrome accent on each side (my personal preference). I plan to get all black license plate covers soon too.
Plasti-dipped:
-Front - Blacked out 2 chrome strips *left cadillac emblem as is
-Back - Blacked out 1 chrome strip *left cadillac emblem, ATS, and 2.0 as is
-Sides - Blacked out window trim and wheels *left center cap w/ cadillac emblem and door handles as is
Looks good. How long have you had it? I'm wondering how durable it is, as I've used it in the past with mixed results. I want to black out the window trim bad, but I'm debating using vinyl so it lasts longer.
murdered ats prty much. not a fan of the murdered scene but thast just me.
petrol, i plastidipped my grill and its fine so far. ive plasti dipped my previous cars and they stayed fine until i removed them. generally areas that u dont touch stay fine. if u do doorhandles, be prepared to redo them alot.
Well I saw a plasti dipped ATS 2.0 today that had black paint job. Im glad I saw it as I was thinking about doing this to mine but after seeing it in person I realize its not for me. I think with my black diamond tricoat I want to go black chrome for the accents. It would have been a very inexpensive option to go plasti dip but I just don't think it would look right against my paint job. Right now I am working on the drl cancel for my low beams (which I installed hids into) as I may have found a way to block the PWM signal but will find out this weekend when I get to work on it. Wish me luck. Oh yea, I did like the plasti dip on the black ATS, thought it looked real good!
I just had my 2nd ATS done in black vinyl. $260 to wrap the window trim, grills, lower DRL bars, and door handles with quality 3M wrap. Tinted the windows and for an extra $35 they tinted the illuminated door handle lights, outside mirror bottoms, side markers and rear reflectors. door handle lights still look fantastic when lit and you really can't even tell they are tinted when lit up, but have a nice smoked look when not on. Only thing left is to plasti-dip the rear bumper chrome and the badging on the back. I have gunmetal wheels and 35% tint as I didn't want the complete blacked out look. I left the horizontal bars in the middle of the grill the stock midnight color or whatever they call it again, just so the car wasn't completely blacked out.
Dustin sounds blacked out to me playa!! haha I'm actually about to wrap everything you just mentioned except the door handles and front fog light bars. doin it with 3M dinoc carbon fiber, also wrapping the D3 rear windshield spoiler in it as well....we'll see how it turns out
