I have a problem with my 97 eldo running to hot. It started when when i would go to fast and it would stedily rise untill it went into protection. Then the check coolant level came on. I would add coolant then when i would run a little bit faster it would leak coolant again. I got the water pump and t stat changed and it still gets hot. Any one have any suggestions?

Bandit, there's another thread in here regarding coolant loss. Though your issue sounds much simpler. Your resevoir cap may be losing it's spring, and letting the coolant out under higher pressures. Change that out and see if your problem goes away.

N* have a problem with the threads in the block pulling loose (stripping). Not all of them do this but it can happen. That loosens the head gasket and causes a coolant leak and combustion gasses to get into the cooling system.
If you cannot see a leak from a hose anywhere a compression test is a good diagnostic step before you spend a lot of time and money on water pumps, etc.
