I am thinking of darkening the rear windows with limo tint on my esv, my state allows for any tint on rear windows. However, I am concerned about the tint affecting the electronic components attached to the rear side windows. It appears the FM receivor and the GPS receivor are attached to the rear windows? If so, will window tint affect either of these components?

I read on another forum that cermanic tint works better with these components when attached to the window, is this correct?

I have read on my tint forums that tinting can actually prevent GPS and FM receivors from working; thus prompting my question.

Anyone have any experiences they would like to share.

Thanks in advance
Sam

Window tint made with metal would cause a problem with your AM stations and GPS. FM you shouldn't have a problem. Ceramic films with no metal would be ok, but the ceramic film is made for cutting heat. You can purchase an All dyed film(made with no metals) that has a lifetime warranty and it would not affect the GPS or your radio stations. I had some Greystone film made by Johnson window films, installed on my EXT and no problems with interference.

They told me that they had to use a special film on my M5 windows or my Nav would not work, it was three times the price of the standard film like my Escalade has, I went with the standard film and have no Nav problems, the AM is a "little" worse than it was, but I do not listen to AM anyway. :)
