Yeah, but I keep having to cover it up on my PC at work! http://cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
"The joke used to be that Cadillac's owners ranged in age from '65 to dead.' " according to an article in USAToday (http://www.usatoday.com/money/advertising/adtrack/2005-03-20-cadillac_x.htm).
The age in a forum poll would probably imply that average owners are much younger but I still submit that computing skill skews this kind of research. Still, it does accomplish the task of obtaining the average forum-user-driving-Cadillacs stats.
IMHO age is relative. You are as young as you think you are. You just have more aches and pains to ignore as you get older. Work out, eat right, stay mentally active and run circles around those video game playing youngsters! http://cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

I have a '97 STS, dark green, with Bose sound system and factory CD changer in the trunk. As far as I know, it has all the options. Awesome car. Useful, looks good, and has muscle. Purchased May 2005.
Everything worked when I bought it. So far I have had to fix the A/C (which sprung a leak), and the headlights (which quit working due to a relay failure). I've had the power seat act a little wacky once or twice (moving to position 2 instead of 1), and the moonroof retains a dabble of water after heavy rains that dribbles down on someones head on the first hard braking after the rain. Overall, I've been happy with it though.
Mods:
None currently. This wouldn't be an easy car to mod even if I wanted to. There are only 2 changes that I have thought about.
First, I would like to improve the stereo system. The Bose setup can play very low bass notes, but only at very low volumes without distorting. A different set of speakers and/or amps might improve this.
Second, I am tempted to change the wheels. I'm not fond of the chrome look, and would prefer a set using polished aluminum with more angular spokes.
Other Cars:
I also own a Jeep Wrangler, and have previously owned various Mustangs, as well as a DeLorean for awhile. EcSTSatic 08-30-05, 04:04 PM This info would be nice if it was captured in the "Members List" table. You could do some stats or searches on it then. SteveThefolkie 09-22-05, 02:00 PM 46 years old, 1992 Seville - loaded to the gills (thanks Mr. First owner!) - has everything except heated seats (I'll live) - and it all still works.
Previous cars of interest that I owned:
1949 Packard Super 8 (1975), 1963 Impala SS 409/425HP 4spd (1976-77), 1970 Buick Skylark GS 455 4spd (1977-1979), 1964 Triumph Herald (Summer of 1980), 1971 Impala 4DR hardtop - loaded - 454 - full power options (1980-82), 1969 Mustang Boss 302 4spd (1982 - 1985 {got married}) -
My '92 was a treat to myself after completing my doctorate and while it may be used - it's in incredible condition and has sold me on caddies - I've never had a vehicle before that combined comfort, handling and acceleration the way the Seville does - of the cars I mentioned above the tie for worst overall is between the packard and the triumph - there is no tie for best - the '63 wins hands down -

Has everithing but the kitchen sink and the sun roof (didn't want either of the two :histeric:). Has 1 year old OEM struts, fairly new alternator, fuel pump, water pump, EBTCM, rack and pinion, upper strut mounts (basically everithing that has to do with suspension except springs), dog bones, stainless steel fuel line, new PCV, EGR, belts, tensioner, filler neck and front bearings. Plus some unique features like, BOSE sound system w/In-dash CD & RDS radio HU (in a ’97!), 12 Disk Changer and AUX input, woodgrain steering wheel, crisp white LED interior lights (all of them), gold plated emblems (all 4 pieces), HID, new style rear view mirror. Of course is running on 7 spokes 16’’ OEM chrome rims and Goodyear Eagle GTs. Soon to install brand new OEM catalytic converter & post cat O2 sensor plus brand new OE mufflers, still working on retrofitting the DVD based OEM Navigation. I went to such a detail that even the stickers on the new installed parts are identical with the originals (including the sticker on the inside of the soon to install fuel door a $30 sticker). Even the dealer told me I am crazy spending $30 on a sticker. All I care is to be factory original! ryannel2003 10-13-09, 09:43 PM 19 here with a sterling silver 2000 STS. 800 miles away from hitting the big 80k! Bought it in June '08 with 54k miles, 18 at the time. It's been a good car with relatively few problems. All it needs now:
New tailight (full of water) and trunk light panel (water)
Get PDR to pull 4 dents out of my roof
Take dashpad off and reglue section I missed
New tires eventually
Fix the most annoying security light (since I've owned the car)
Maybe fix the passenger heated seat one day
Bushings
Good tint job
Within the next 30-40k miles I'm gonna re-do the struts and shocks with OEM replacements. Expensive, but aftermarket not worth the handling tradeoff. submariner409 10-13-09, 09:45 PM ....................nobody reads profiles any more. ben.gators 10-16-09, 04:10 AM Age: 27:D
Car: Seville STS 99, full option except sunroof
purchased it about two months ago, as a one owner car, from an old gentleman....
One interesting subject, when I was going to buy this baby, my main concern was although I love this car, such cars may not be very sporty and suitable for youth people, but it seems that at least half of owners in this topic are less than 30...:D by the way, do chicks love these cars?:lildevil: Clem8fan 10-16-09, 10:29 AM 2000 STS (Silky Silver on the RPO listing), 31 yrs old
Had to replace the exhaust from the cat back, coolant crossover seals, & radiator. Other than that everything runs and works great, now I just need to get the tint done. And to answer your question, yes chicks do love these cars! :hitit2: submariner409 10-16-09, 01:19 PM Leesburg, VA ------- head east toward Point of Rocks or White's Ferry. Look for the historical marker "Battle of Ball's Bluff". An October cannon fight on the banks of the Potomac River. Lots of North and South dead, and weren't buried until spring.........in a pit at the small cemetery there. One of my great uncles (Lt. Reuben H. Cleary, Army of Northern Virginia under R.E. Lee) died there, but the body was identified and sent home to Frederick, MD. The local farmers covered rotting bodies with lime and scooped up what was left after the spring thaw. Many soldiers from Leesburg............ Clem8fan 10-16-09, 01:45 PM Lots of North and South dead, and weren't buried until spring.........in a pit at the small cemetery there.
The Balls Bluff cemetery is about 1/2 mile from my house. There is a little park up a gravel road in the back of a housing development that leads to Balls Bluff Park. You can walk down the cliffs to the Potomac River and walk back up the hill that the Union tried to advance up during the battle. There are about 13 marked and identified grave stones in the cemetery as well as one single unknown marker to identify the soldiers that are buried in the cemetery as well as all over the grounds of that site. I heard on the radio today that they have designated the area from Gettysburg, Pa to Charlottesville, Va with Rt. 15 being the middle point as a national historic area for the battles of both the Civil and Revolutionary wars as well as the homes of at least 5 past presidents. Alot of history in this area. 1999STS Green/Cream Int. 280000 klm

Have pretty much done every mod that's out there without breaking into the PCM (Corsa exhaust, Eclipse drivers, STSi Facia, slotted rotors, rear spoiler, etc). Some would prob write that I've actually "overdone" it, but have truly taylored this car to my own personality. As a Fisher series Camaro and Firebird owner in my younger years, this suited me beautifully as I got older, and by far this has been the best car I have ever owned! I will go STS V-Series for my next ride, but for the time being, am in NO hurry to upgrade.

This is my first car and I hope my only car! I got it for $500 from my dad's biz partner. There are a TON of things wrong with it (mostly computer and cosmetic, although my tranny is down now, hopefully I will get fixed soon). My SLS is my fav by far, I love the stock look, guys don't ruin your cars with a lot of extra stuff, these cars are built just like they should be. ponyboyt 10-30-09, 09:20 AM Holy crap theres a lot of boomin STS's on here.
I am 33, I bought my 1997 pearl white STS, with 278,000 km's and 2 blown headgaskets, stock non bose stereo, no sunroof, in March 2009, from a scrap yard for 1000 bucks. Passed safety and had a current E-Test. Minimal rust, they drove it south every winter (damn rich old people). I drove it like a rental, and put over 30,000km on that engine. Picked up a 95 with 420,000 with a replaced engine, 120,000 on that one, Manufacture stamp of November 2001! for 500 bucks and did the swap myself.
2 Alpine Type R 12`s with MRP1000
Alpine Type S all around with an F340.
2 Kicker 6.5`mid bass.
6000 on the new *used* engine and i drive it like a rental.

99 STS (Z RATED FTW) Drive it like I stole it everyday without even second thinking it. Take down little ricers all day and still sit back in luxury. Wouldn't trade it for many cars in the world except a select few. Love the looks I get when I pull up to a parking lot in it, and love the fact that I know I can go to 150+ MPH. :D blackcaddycts 10-30-09, 07:22 PM 48

1993 Seville 4.9, 179,800 mi. The more I learn about the 4.9 the happier I am. This engine is as reliable as a sunrise. It has no leaks, full compression and has never given me a bit of trouble. I had to replace the Half axles, brake hoses, struts, tires, battery, water pump, serpentine belt, headlight lens, alternator, under hood insulation, hood struts, Wiper blades, Ignition switch (twice), all injectors, fuel pump, one exhaust manifold (cracked) and all fluids. I have been driving this car 60 to 100 miles every day since.
