I bought some custom rims for my 2000 Escalade. I just traded up for a 2004 Escalade EXT and I wanted/did put these rims onto it. I found out the the hubs differ from 2002 and up(diameter is approx 1" smaller) but the lugs line up fine. Basically I had to make sure the wheels were centered befor tighening the lugs.
With this done I took it for a ride & they seem to ride perfect. My concern is because there is no real support from the hub is this gonna screw up my rims?
I'm sure this is not the first time this has happened to anyone so does anyone know if there is some type of adaptor out there for this or am I making a big deal out of nothing? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Brian

I once was told by a shop owner that you can buy center hub rings that will help center the rims onto your hub. You will need to measure the diameter of the hub and the diameter of the hole in the rim, a shop that sell's wheels should be able to get what you want. If you ask "NVMyCaddy" I beleive thats what he did.

Thanks all, I did stop in and talk to a supervisor at a rim shop and he told me that I should have recieved the insert rings when I bought the rims. He gave me a worried look when I told him my situation and he advised me to go back where I bought the rims & get them ordered. He said that over time the lug holes, because of the extra play, could oval out thus ruining the rims. He said rims aren't cheap so why even take the chance, get the inserts & be done with it.
Thanks again
