Question, how much does it typically cost to get the transmission rebuillt for a 95 sls with a northstar engine from a transmission shop?

That's going to depend on exactly what they do during the rebuild. Do you have a detailed quote to share that we can work with?

When I thought my trans was toast, I was quoted $2000 dollars. However there is place out of Arizona that sells them for $1,050. Here's there website and contact info.

Darn, it has been a while since my eldo trans was rebuilt. I had a spun bushing which caused a good leak from the side of the trans. Leak was located up in between the small space above the side of the oil pan. Point being, the trans had to be dropped. I had the trans rebuilt including all the electronic sensors. I figured it was down and out of the car and I had read about problems with the speed sensors, so I figured it best to do it. I didn't do the torque convertor. Total cost, if I can remember correctly came to about $2500. This job was done by a custom shop, not one of the corparate ripoffs like aamco or cottman. I am fully satisfied with the job done. I haven't had any problems since the work was done a little over 2 years ago. Same guy did my TH400 trans from my Olds for $700. Again, I was completely satisfied.
