I like Roger Moore the best, and that's the one I grew up with. He was a bit more funny than the others. (I like the two with "Jaws") Apparently he would always ask "was that good enough?" after a set...

Timothy Dalton was more of a whipped politically correct Bond, ie. no slapping on the azz and disrespectin', etc. THAT'S NOT what Bond is about!!!

What about George Lazenby? I think he did a good job, and do you know the story about what happened to him??

For the next Bond they NEED Clive Owen! We need to see a more "rugged looking" Bond and not such the "pretty boy" that Pierce is. Although Pierce has done a good job overall, but I find his Bond movies a bit more boring. In "The World is Not Enough" it starts off great, but then loses me because it drags and nothing interesting happens after the half-way point. Although Sophie Marceau would be my favorite European actress if I had to pick one, and she made that movie, not him IMO. I think "Golden Eye" is Pierces best Bond so far.

Connery and Dalton were the best.

Moore was too silly, and he acted like he did in "The Saint"

Pierce just isn't that good of an actor, every time I see him i just thing "Remington Steele"

and Lazenby was ok, but he was only in one Bond movie, so...

A lot of people don't like Dalton because he played the role as Flemming had written in the books - dark and serious. In fact, Goldeneye was written for Dalton, and I believe it would have been much better if he was in it.

Goldeneye is by far the best Bond movie in the last 30 years, and its too bad the everything else after it was just mediocre or outright terrible (Die Another Day). Hopefully the new Bond movie, Casino Royale, will be good since Martin Campbell is directing again (he directed Goldeneye). Also, Eric Serra's score from Goldeneye is IMHO one of the best in the series and it wouldn't be bad to have him back...

Moore was pretty deadly serious in For Your Eyes Only, and even in The Man With the Golden Gun.

But most Bond fans I know HATE Eric Serra's cheesy 1980s era synth score from Goldeneye. (If you love Flock of Seagulls, though, I guess you'd like Serra.) Now that John Barry's sworn off ever doing more Bond films, I'd have to say David Arnold is an excellent replacement. Great brassy jazz like in the Connery days.

I am currently listening to the Bond soundtrack, lol. I grew up with Pierce and I have always thought Goldeneye was one of the the best! For Your Eyes Only is also great. The next Bond movie will be directed by the guy who did Goldeneye. I think it will be awesome!

Bond must have a good British accent.

Here's probably the most reliable Bond site I've found. They don't update that often, but since it's run by the Ian Fleming Foundation, it's pretty reliable, I'd say.

http://www.ianfleming.org/index.shtml

It seems that a lot of actors are turning down the role of Bond. Clive Owen says he has no time, for instance. Daniel Craig (from Layer Cake), Hugh Jackman, Dominic West, and Julian McMahon (from Nip/Tuck) have all been mentioned, and some have even screen-tested for Bond. But they've all said no.

So who knows who will be 007. Casino Royale apparently is set to shoot in January.

Mike Myers.

LOL, seriously, they have no idea who is going to play the role in January, and the Brocolli family, etc. is fighting with everyone else about what Bond should be.....

I've read that they're now trying to get an unknown to play the role, so that people will be able to believe the character more...

I guess that could work. Interesting.......I think for the most part Lazenby was an unknown, as he only did some modelling and was a Ferrari salesman before taking the role in 1969.

I guess another Australian could play the role.
