People don't be fooled like I was about the superb quality and design of Lexus (Toyota) products. The Escalade was twice the car the GX is. My wife and I both can't stand it. Had we been able to take it home for a weekend liek we always did when we got a new Cadillac or Hummer, we would have NEVER bought this car. This is the first foreign car I have owned and I thought I was buying the best. The features are poorly designed, the car handles very poorly, it is under powered and the fuel mileage stinks.

Go America! Can't wait until the 07 comes out so I can dump this pig!

Your getting worse gas mileage with the Lex than you did with your Lade? :lies:

The GX is actually not the top of the line SUV from Lexus.. That would be the Lexus LX470. And, you may have a lemon. Still, I like the Escalade better than the LX as well.. The "big" Lexus SUV is small. Room is tight inside.. I like the way it looks but I never bothered to take a test-drive as I didn't feel it was worth any more than the Escalade. They want over $70k for a truck that shouldn't be costing more than $50k...

The new Escalade is surely going to be very nice..

My neighbor has an 03' Escalade and an 05' GX470, his wife drives the 470, and they both said they did not like the ride and comfort of the 470 compared to the Escalade, and his wife also told me that the 470 does not get good gas mileage. I have never rode in a 470 personally

What is yours usual MPG in city traffic? I drive my `05,6.0,awd only on weekend, when the traffic is almost zero,I`am not driving like a NASCAR driver, but don`t get more as 11-12MPG,best.The truck has only 750 miles on it.Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, mobi.

I get the same mileage as you. Thats why I find it hard to believe the Lex is getting even worse mileage than that.

...and the lexus is poor ugly compared to the Escalade. I had a dodge durango with the 5,9L 235HP engine before and it used more gas than the Escalade.

I guess thats believable... the AWD X5 4.4i actually gets about 13mpg, which is terrible for a 4.4L Displacement vehicle, yet the RWD 7 Series manages about 19, quite a difference from the same engine.

The Escalade got 13.5 in mostly around town driving. Windy hilly roads in the Eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh. The Lex is getting 13.9 displayed but eveyone on the Lexus forum says the computer displays about 2 mpg better than the actual. The Cadillac computer vs actual was accurate the one time I checked it on a trip. The Lex is ugly and small. I have no idea why I bought it.

I know some people have reservations about used cars and such, but with that kind of dough I would never have considered a NEW GX470. I would have happily marched my butt right over to the nearest highline used dealership and picked up a 1 or 2 year old Range Rover.
