Does anyone know or have looked upon a 4 door pick up with funk in the back.

I happen to like base, and Im thinkinh about getting me one of those colarados by chevy. but I cant find and pics of were someone would add some base to the system. I can add a nice head unit but I wont feel anything without the 808. has anyone any ideas on what or were to install some good tunes in a four door pickup.

Keep in mind that its a four door. that means I wanna seat four people k? I also wanna have nice thump.

The Colorado is a new, and still unproven truck. From most reviews, it looks like a pretty poor choice (at this point in time). see:

If you're one of those that will buy foreign trucks, I'd go with the Nissan Frontier, or for domestics, the Dodge Dakota (and this is assuming you want a small pickup truck...)

yeah, but it's a GM,
not a mopar or ford or jap ride.......
that's the biggest plus
gm has more cars on the road than all the other makes combined, they might know something about making vehicles.

Don't listen to ben. The colorado is a great choice, even the canyon. Foreign and mopar are GARBAGE. Ford is ok.

And dude, BASSSSSSSSSSSS.

Mopar has their act together, and the Daimler money invested in it, tends to show in current quality and very decent ratings....

I'm sure the Colorado is a fine choice, however, when they first came out there were stories on this forum of mismatched door seams and other little "quality" glitches, etc. I'm sure by now they are worked out. :coolgleam

Mopar is gaaaaahhhbage, except for jeep. They make crap, and they sell crap. Sure, they got their rust issues out, but their trucks still suck.

Ford is ok, but trust me, a chevy truck is tried and true, and will last for many years without major problems or rust.

Toyota's are chick trucks and for dudes with no stones.

That would explain why I see more Toyota trucks up here. :shhh:

I would have a Hemi Ram over an F150 anyday. Just from listening to friends who have had a couple examples of each, etc.

I guess it comes down to personal preference. I think it's Jeep that lacks quality, and the Liberty instantly comes to mind, and that horrid thing out of the 1960's called a "Commander" will likely be. :hide:

In the past I've always felt that Chevy are the nicest riding trucks, Ford were the toughest trucks, and Dodge were the most affordable, easy to work on trucks, but I think it's a bit different now.

Thanks for the info this---> says alot

{The Colorado seemed promising when it replaced the S-10 in 2003. Since then, a number of better competitors have come on the scene. The unrefined five-cylinder engine, which it shares with its GMC Canyon twin, lacks punch and doesn't offer a fuel-economy advantage over competing V6s. It had to work hard to make power in our tested crew cab. Handling is sound but unexceptional. The ride is unsettled and the body constantly quivers. The huge 48-foot turning circle makes parking a chore. Overall these GM trucks trail the current competition in just about all categories. Reliability has been above average, but the trucks score too low in testing to be recommended.}

But it has a very nice style. the others just dont look like I wanna drive it. I guess Ill wait untill a biger engine comes along and most the buggs get worked out. Chevy prism uses a toyota engine and other parts. maybe the'll have some foreign help with this truck.

Mr. smith, I have seen both 2 and 4 door trucks with a lot of bang, bass, slam or (whatever term you prefer to use)in them. My friend has a chevy silverado single cab, with 2 12" subs in it. The truck sounds ok to me but I think he has to much bass and needs some high's to balance it. I also have a friend with an avalanche and i think he has between 2 and 4 12" subs in it and his truck sounds nice. The sound hits hard and you can still hear and understand lyrics and so on. You might want to try angled boxes that can fit under the back seats. The single cab silverado has them behind the seats. Not sure on the exact location in the avalanche. You might also want to try MTX's mini thunder amps. I have seen them used before on either Overhaulin or Pimp My Ride.

Me, when it comes to trucks, Dodge with the cummins deisel is the only way to go. That, or the Lightning, or Ram SRT10. :)

after working on all of the above, I have found the GMs and toyotas are the easiest to work on, gm rides and handles better than ALL, chrysler is finally getting some cool styling, and ford has a cool looking mustang ( even though I don't really like mustangs),and some really big "light" trucks-- aka "medium duty"
but yes, it is a personal thing,
they all will last IF YOU MAINTAIN THEM, they are ALL mass-produced and some problems will slip through the cracks.

if you're looking for durability and resale DON'T buy the "best priced" truck (read that, "cheapest") because that's what you'll get.
and above all, if you buy it relatively new, buy an extended service plan ("health insurance" for your car/truck) and ONLY buy one from the manufacturer of your vehicle:
gm= gmpp major guard (general motor's protection plan, gmpp)
ford esp (extended service plan)
and whatever chrysler is.

don't let ANY car salesman tell you ANYTHING else will do, or is "just as good", because it's NOT.
they cost a little more, but are WELL WORTH the bucks, TRUST ME, I fix them when they break, and the manufacturers' plans are the best.

The biggest problem with the Colorado and Canyon, and for that matter the H3, is that 5 cyl engine. I dont know whose wet dream that was but as far as trucks go if theres one place you dont skimp on cylinders or displacement its a TRUCK.

You either get your 4 cyl economical work truck to haul parts around in, or you get your 6 cyl (or 8 cyl in case of Dodge) to haul ass and tow stuff with. A 5 cylinder does not fit into that picture period.

Sorry, these three have been far eclipsed in the power department, but otherwise they look OK.

thats my thing. I wanna keep my seats available.
