Its pretty damned cool. I will check it out, thanks. I found one that gets closer than the google. I have known about this but I have never used it before, kinda fun. powerglide 07-17-05, 05:52 AM Yeah, I think there are other sattelite photo type site out there.....I kinda liked this one because its integrated with a regular map that I use to find directions etc. Yeah that is true. Someday this will be all live and in our cars. You will be able to see the accident up the road 7 miles or if your relatives are scrambling for your arrival. davesdeville 07-17-05, 06:02 AM http://terraserver.microsoft.com/

:hide: RobertCTS 07-17-05, 06:34 AM The Google Maps satellite pics are only of densely populated areas. Little towns like mine don't show up.:( powerglide 07-17-05, 07:07 AM Yeah...I noticed that....that's google for ya!
:-0 evilrussian 07-17-05, 09:04 AM I like the ease of use on google/maps. Terraserver is PITA to navigate. I'm hoping that google will eventually do the entire globe in hi-rez. Imagine - click, drag, zoom and you examining sand grains somewhere in Sahara. the hernando county (Florida) has satellite photos of properties
i can see our mazzda626 and wifes work van in the driveway

Yea, That image has been taken about 4 years ago
I'm glad you edited your post. RobertCTS 07-17-05, 02:10 PM You mean these image are stored images that can be up to 4 years old!! That sucks! Boombotz 07-17-05, 02:19 PM You mean these image are stored images that can be up to 4 years old!! That sucks!
The reason I said that was when I was looking at my company's address the parking lot in our yard was paved with blacktop, and the city of Tampa made us rip it up for drainage purposes and put down rock. The image I am looking at has the blacktop there and we haven't had that in 4 years. evilrussian 07-17-05, 02:49 PM Image of my house on terraserver is from 1999, lo-rez, black and white. They better update that crap. RobertCTS 07-17-05, 02:52 PM Are the Google Maps anymore current? evilrussian 07-17-05, 03:03 PM Are the Google Maps anymore current?
I think so. At least in my area. I've seen things there being built like 2 yars ago ( which are finished now) slk230mb 07-17-05, 03:08 PM The maps of my area are 10 years old. :bonkers: addison_ii 07-17-05, 03:47 PM "Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country," Hey powerglide, that quote from MB is a classic. Must have been high when he said that one. I have used the satellite option before and it is pretty interesting. I agree with boombotz about the pics being old. I think the pic of my old house in Michigan was taken in about 1998. http://image.globexplorer.com/gexservlets/gex?encrypt=eXRtPCw5OC83MDY0Njc0NzA2J3h0bTwyNC8xNT QxMTc5Nzg1J3ltczwsOTgvNzA3Mjg0MTU3Myd4bXM8MjQvMTU1 MzYxNTk2Nyd0aGU8MDI2MzknaGk8MjcxJ2h2PDU0MSdtcjw1J2 JsZTxobGBmZCdoZTwzMDIzMTExOTEwJ2BxcWhlPDEzMTAxMVYn dXI8MDAzMDcyNjczMjcxNg==
