I'm actually in the middle of replacing my sensor so i removed the surge tank but I don't see the cam sensor. I have a '04 dhs so did they place those sensors somewhere different?

Your CMP is in the front (passenger end) of the right (rear) cylinder head, in line with the exhaust cam sprocket. Below and behind the P/S pump.

Your question does not belong in Tech Tips. Moved to Engines, Northstar thread "2004 DHS CMP location ?". Please read the Tech Tips forum description.

Ok thank you. I actually googled my issue and that thread came up. I actually don't think I'm going to need the cam sensor I got a code for the crank sensor a and b (P0335 and po385) so I returned the cam sensor and bought those crank sensors.

CKP sensor failure is MUCH more common than CMP sensor failure.

Yeah that's what I thought. My code didn't pop up anything for the cmp just both the ckp.
