Please go to this site http://topgunse.com/index.htm and sign the petition. It is a proposed sports and entertanment complex in Yaphank Nrw York. They are proposing a 3/4 mile nascar type track, a 20,000 seat 1/4 mile dragstrip, anatv park, a motocross park, an arena/ampitheater, a youth park, an adult pleasure isle, and a hotel. I think this would be great for LI. Please go check out the site and sign the petition. I' m going to repost this in the lounge section as well.
I'll sign your petition but I must admit I just about choked on my drink when I saw your avitar! How did you get that picture of me as a young man? I thought my Mom threw it out years ago...

Suffolk didn’t make room for the mammoth NASCAR-style track pitched by Top Gun Sports and Entertainment Inc. in mid-2005. The $180 million proposal also included an amphitheater, a children’s area with bumper boats, an arcade and an “adult playground” with eateries, nightclubs and retail stores.
“That was just too big for this site,” Levy said.
Top Gun exec Neil A. Rosenberg said he hasn’t abandoned his plans just yet. “This is just one step of the process,” he said.

But in the last year, two new road courses in, or near, MA opened. And one being built in NH. It's a strangely progressive time...
