I own a 1968 cadillac eldorado and im in the process of slowly rebuilding it. I just had some exhaust work donw and now I am moving onto the brakes. My first concern is the brake booster and i cant seem to locate one. Please respond or email @ wmoss@tampabay.rr.com if you know where i can find one.

I took mine to the local Cadillac dealership and they sent it off to some company to be rebuilt.

I may be wrong, but I believe it is the same design/size that they've used for damn near all Eldos up into late 78, hydro-boost excluded of course...

You SHOULD be able to replace it with ANY such booster.

IF I'm right...:bouncy:

Write down the VIN code and all the information from the trim tag. Take that information to your local GM authorized parts supplier. It does not have to be a Cadillac dealership. They will give you the correct information even if they can not locate the booster in your immediate area. The reasons you should do this is that they (Genuine GM Parts) have access to the dealership network and all the updated replacment stock numbers, even if the part is no longer available. Rebuilding your booster is an option if you can not locate a NOS (New Old Stock) replacement.

Yes, that MIGHT work... tho I'm willing to bet that the dealer cannot access info on a vehicle that old....

Saying that, they MAY still be able to cross-ref the old number w/ an updated one.
