Brand new here. This is my first post.

Had a run of bad luck lately with my 70 DeVille. My exhaust sounds like a muscle car when I first start it up, but then is much more quiet when it heats up. I had it looked at and the mechanic says the exhaust manifold is shot, plus he thinks of one the studs is broken off. Not good news, but I have put $$$ into the car before and I like it so no big deal. Well it has become a big deal since now I cant seem to find anyone who makes new exhaust manifolds for a 472. Does anyone know where I can find an actual brand new GM Exhaust manifold for this engine? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Heh good luck finding a NOS manifold. Is it the manifold itself or the seal it makes with the head? If it's the manifold leaking somewhere I'd try to just weld it. If it's too far gone to be fixed like that you could try junkyards, or MTS (500cid.com) might have some available.

Sorry fresh out. I still have the pass side. One of those studs can be drilled out and a bolt can be substituted. The other stud goes right toward nowhere though. IIRC the 472 and 500 RWD driver's side manifolds will all fit. The 425 DS manifold will fit but is smaller. Good luck.

I saw a site at www.usapartssupply.com (http://www.usapartssupply.com) The person I talked to said that he has NEW ones. Has anyone ever delt with this company? Was it good, bad, any opinion?

Thanks for the help

I was told to stay away from parts that were not "GM" parts. Sounds like this site is selling manifolds that will fit but my mechanic says that they dont fint properly and might leak. Does this sound like a common concern amoung "non-GM" parts?

Thanks again for all of the help

They also list used ones but you have to call for availability.
