Hi,

I am looking for a solution and didnt know if anyone here has had the same problem or knows how to fix it...my brake lines are basically shot. I took them to have them replaced but the guys said they don't want to mess with them because the lines wind in and out and around the frame so muhc that they would have to cut the old lines out, try to rebend new lines to match, and the hardest part would be to reinstall the new lines. I didnt know if there was a tubing instead of a solid, unbendable brake system theat could be used? I am in baton rouge, louisiana if that means anything...please email me at phantastic44313@yahoo.com if you can help me out!! thanks!!

Wrong section of the forum dude ;)
But to answer your question hard lines should NOT be replaced with flexible ones, and i dont think its even feasible.
I doubt that ALL the lines are shot. You should be able to buy most of the lines pre-bend, or buy lines and have them bend to match the frame etc... I dont understant why your mechanic say its too much work, most automotive have brakes... and for the most part they work on this principle of hard lines from the master cylinder to the wheel, then soft line from the frame to the moving wheel assembly. Bending brakes lines can be a pain but its not hard, just time consuming.

I had to do it on my 72 Olds 98. Not that hard at all. Just take your time, don't try to rush. I cut out a portion of the old line and replaced with new. Important note...you must double flare the ends of the tubing. First and only time I ever did the job, it worked with no leaks.
