I just tried to start my 1992 Seville and no power. Pulled the hood release and nothing happened although it appears to be connected OK. Is there a lock out if the battery is dead? How do I get in?

Lock can't be out if the battery is dead, otherwise, just imagine what a nightmare it was! I guess there is some sort of mechanical link between a lock and release button.
