Has anyone removed the divider from the center of the stock 472/500 intake?
Did you gain any power? Loose any power or torque?

divider?

the only thing I think you are talking about is, in the snorkel, there is a door that is normally horizontal...

in that case, removing it will not do anything...

what that is, normally, and when working properly, when the engine is cold, the door closes, and it takes warm air from around the exhaust manifold into the engine, it is a carburator heat function, helps warm it up...

as the car ages, vaccum lines crack and metal rusts, I bet it dosn't work anymore...

if you want more power/sound, get a 14" open element air filter... that would be the best bet, but woudln't be stock anymore...

What I mean is, the center partition in the intake manifold.

oh...

yeah, if that is removed, then I have heard it'll flow better... it *may* loose some low-end torque, but it'll make it breath better at higher RPM's.... I would do it....

I don't want to loose any low end torque. Torque is why I have a 472. I guess by doing this you are createing a single plane intake which is not the best for low end torque. Any suggestions for more torque?

All I have are flow numbers... if you're asking this question you've probably already seen them but I'll post the site anyway, http://www.500caddy.us

You are not making a single plane really, it's still split level it just shares air/fuel mix more easily.

Someone should dyno test it... I might if I ever get around to actually spending money and time on the 75.

the amount of low end torque you will loose will not really make a difference... that is where the 472 comes in. Where the enigne needs help is the higher RPM range, that is where this mod will gain a little bit.
