View Full Version : East/midwest CadillacForums Meet!!!! elwesso 11-07-03, 02:58 PM I thought we should get something together again.... The last one really sounded like fun, and I think we should do another one, but maybe in a little different spot (so people around my area dont have to drive so far)......

I'm down with the meet. But the big question is where and what??? elwesso 11-07-03, 03:11 PM Ive had good luck with simple meets..... Like just a BBQ.....
Track wouldnt be a bad idea either......
Im thinking somewhere in Ohio.... Cleveland looks about halfway for everyone (indiana people and PA guys.) JJhomer83 11-07-03, 03:16 PM Ive had good luck with simple meets..... Like just a BBQ.....

So your thinking rent out a camp/picnic area, have a BBQ bs etc.....
Some people might have to put themselves up in a hotel or something like that. Now the question is how many people are willing to do the drive. I personally don't care i love road trips. elwesso 11-07-03, 03:18 PM Or if you wanted to do a track, im sure theres one in that area....... We can do a theme park type thing isn't there one in ohio outside of cleveland or something that would be cool. elwesso 11-07-03, 03:29 PM Hmmmm.... I dont konw about the theme park thing... The only one I can think of in Ohio is king island, in Cincy..... There may be like a 6 flags or something, but i dont know......... JJhomer83 11-07-03, 04:02 PM Hmmmm.... Anyone else have any input. lux hauler 11-07-03, 04:26 PM There is a Six Flags (http://www.sixflags.com/parks/worldsofadventure/index.asp). It's kinda south and east of Cleveland in Aurora, Ohio.
There's also Cedar Point (http://www.cedarpoint.com/) which is west of Cleveland in Sandusky.
As far as tracks (1/4 mile) there are two. Dragway 42 (http://www.dragway42.com/) in West Salem, Ohio and Norwalk Raceway Park (http://www.norwalkraceway.com) in Norwalk, Ohio.
Cedar Point and Norwalk are only 15-20 miles apart. Norwalk is much nicer than Dragway 42. elwesso 11-07-03, 04:27 PM I forgot you were from Ohio..... do you have any recommendations........ JJhomer83 11-07-03, 04:33 PM I forgot you were from Ohio..... do you have any recommendations........
I am down with a meet in ohio, so lets get the ball rolling i like either the drag way or theme park if we do either we have to do it SOON or wait till next year. lux hauler 11-07-03, 04:41 PM I forgot you were from Ohio..... do you have any recommendations........
If you're looking for a track and amusement park in the Cleveland area, I'd pick Norwalk and Cedar Point.
Easy access to both from the Ohio Turnpike and plenty of places to stay.

It would have to be next year. elwesso 11-07-03, 04:45 PM We could always meet for a little deal, and then have a bigger meet next spring....... lux hauler 11-07-03, 04:48 PM We could always meet for a little deal, and then have a bigger meet next spring.......

Doing something outdoors around here, this time of year may not be such a good idea. The temperature isn't supposed to be above 50 this weekend and it's only going to get colder. elwesso 11-07-03, 05:10 PM Yeah.....
Theres one in Indy.... but you gotta be +18...... :crying2: JJhomer83 11-07-03, 05:27 PM Yeah.....

that is the website.
Yes you have to be 18 and they WILL not bend on the idea. Wes i have some ideas for you email me later and ill figure something out.
Now the good news. Since we are a "car" group they do give discounts to groups. Depending on the amount of people that go depends on the price.
I have gotten 85 bucks for 2 hours of racing and the prices go down with the more people we have commited to it.
For those that are over 21 they DO SELL BEER.
lets get some input on this idea and see who is intersted. elwesso 11-07-03, 05:48 PM You got mail.......! elwesso 11-07-03, 05:51 PM Also, I turn 18 in July..... You PA guys should meet somewhere and then caravan to wherever we need to go...... CHITOWN!!!! In the Spring elwesso 02-04-04, 06:53 PM Id love to see some people at the meet on march 20 in Lexington! 91 Eldo TC 03-18-04, 12:12 PM Wal-mart has car meets any time you want. It's on Brookpark rd in Brooklyn Ohio(brooklyn is a suburb of cleveland).Summit is a good place so is Norwalk but there are always busy,it's tough to set up meets in those places. The metro parks have meets about once a month but not for caddy's.I can find out what can be done if people are serious about meeting in Cleveland. ChiMick 03-18-04, 01:16 PM Please put me down as "interested" in the indoor karting meet-up. Perhaps I can get the red-haired one to participate also.
2 Hours? That's a long time for Karting. That's almost an enduro. I'd vote for one hour & more socializing.
