HELP!

Roadtripping the 69 Limo I blew out the passenger side rear axle bearing and the plate that holds it in the hub 5 miles east of the Hoover Dam, limped back to Henderson (about 5 miles outside of Las Vegas) without the axle falling out. I am now stuck. I can't find the parts - local shops, Hemmings, and Rock Auto both yealded no results. Anybody got the parts or know where I can get them? I'm travelling across the country and am willing to do just about anything to get this guy repaired - I can bring you things from around the country and throw in a couple of bottles of my absinthe. I'll cook you dinner. Anything!

If you can give me a hand please call me (the guy at Cingular was nice enough to let me use his store computer) at 510-593-0161. If the battery is dead leave a message and I'll call you back.

Help!

Cheers!

Aaron!

Hey all,

I'm still stuck in Vegas - folks at a hostel were nice enough to let us stay for the night, and now we're just trying to find that part so we can get back on our way. If anybody knows how to get the passenger side rear axle bearing for a 1969 Fleetwood Limo PLEASE let me know! I'll pay someone double what you can get for it plus overnight shipping... Help!

I guess there are worse places in the world to be stuck than Las Vegas... Hell, we could be stuck in New Jersey... *shiver* :)

Cheers!

Can't one of the local shops order the part for you?

We can't find the part is the problem... The mechanic at the shop the car is in called everywhere - we think maybe Kanter in NJ, but they're closed until Monday. Do you know of any places I can look that I might not have already?

I might suggest that you see if there are any junkyards in the area. Bearing shouldn't be a problem to find , but the plate may be an adventure. Might also pull the driver side and see if a machine shop could reproduce it. Good Luck! I know its a bear being broke down far from home. All the best.

Good ideas! Thanks! Again, if anyone knows where to find these parts, we've been stuck here the better part of a week and are quite desperate...

Cheers!

I hope you've managed to get the '69 back on the road again. If not, maybe this place is worth a shot:

Either way, good luck!

we think maybe Kanter in NJ

Anyone else see the irony here?

Kanter is practically my neighbor. His business is a bit north of here, in Boonton, NJ.

Hope you got your '69 going.....
