I hear rumour that you "must" put spreaders between the ports on the exhaust manifold or they are extremely difficult to get back on as the metal bows in.
Does anyone know anything on this? Can you make spreaders out of small turnbuckles?
Also, years ago when they started using aluminum blocks and heads they had problems with leaking headgaskets and we learned a little trick to stop it.
In my tractor trilers I also ran into a problem similiar to the corrision of the headgaskets and we found a trick to solve it. I feel pretty good that both these techniques will work on the N* 4.6 will apply them when I put it back together.

I'll keep you posted and share the tech's once I have proven they work or do not work. Perhaps through team work the situation can be resolved.

The exhaust manifolds bolt on as easy as anything else..... Don't quite know what you're referring to.
