A Ford spokesman says Fusion’s base sticker of $17,995, which includes freight, undercuts rivals carrying Hyundai, Honda, Chevrolet, Toyota and Nissan badges by at least $500, based on an apples-to-apples comparison that includes destination charges. The Mazda6 is also more expensive, starting at $19,555. (http://wardsauto.com/ar/auto_ford_fusion_undercuts/index.htm)

Sandy's Specs at $ 38,995.00.
I built one to HRS spec, and it came to $21,015.00. But pricing was not available on manual V6, so mine was a manual I4.

I like it. Im extremely disappointed they didnt build the ACTUAL 427 concept car, but I suppose in its market this is the best one could expect. This is supposed to be the car to basically replace the Taurus.

Yeah it will replace the Taurus, although it is a bit smaller than the Taurus in Ford's lineup. I might have looked at one, but then I saw the Malibu SS and i punched myself for even thinking about owning a Ford;). The Mazda6 is too little, hopefully this Fusion thing will have more backseat to it. Too bad its bland as it is, but what else would you expect from Ford...

But do you really think it is any MORE bland than the Malibu SS? Quite Frankly I like this little Ford more than the Malibu, if for nothing else the interior quality is way ahead of the Malibu. I know the MalibuSS Def has the power plant advantage though. I just didnt like the one I drove as a rental much at all.

This is an extremely attractive design, and I can say that even though I own a CTS.
Ford's generated a HUGE amount of interest in this vehicle, and with the price point where it is it should sell very well. If it turns out to be reliable as well, then the Japanese are going to finally experience a loss of sales volume in their core market.
I'm hopeful GM can come up with something similar in the future, to take back the entry level market from the competition.
Looks good. If it handled like the Mazda 6, I'd rock it.

For some reason I see the 1980's Taurus sensation all over again....this car is definently a WIN for America.
