If the units are good and go for the present price of $999, that is not a bad deal. The unit on Ebay last week went for $1050 and the week before I think it was $1200. Nonetheless, at $999 I may just have to jump on one of those.

I have a question. What is the compatibility with a non-BOSE set-up? It is still possible to install the Navi? :hmm:

 Yea, just finished it yesterday. I received the DVD nav in four days, took eight days to get the DVD map software, and fifteen days to get the GPS antenna. Everything works fine, but I'm having a problem with the GPS losing reception. I live in a wooded area and it's in and out (at home). My Garmin IQUE would pick up in the same area. I'll double check the antenna connection and location. The DVD NAV radio works great. With the nice display for the radio, car information, GPS, and the ability to play a DVD while in motion (works - nice bonus), it's a bargain. I spent around $1500 for all pieces. The new 2006 CTS I saw yesterday, list the DVD Nav system as a $2995 option. I would like to get the voice guidance feature working. **Has anyone else had problems with the GPS reception** You won't know it's a problem unless you switch from map to the GPS INFO screen. It's states "out of range. It will go into 2D mode, acquire additional satellites, then go into 3D mode. and then state "out of range". I removed the metal plate from the GPS antenna and taped it to a metal brace (same location) as in MISCREAT'S instructions.

You will always go in and out of range but it should have no effect on the NAV since it uses your speed sensor to tell where you are moving on the map and it only uses the GPS to check your location every once in a while. Since I had a non bose system I mounted the antenna in the center of the dash under the empty speaker location and I had better reception than on the side of the dash.

Tomm - Thanks for the input. I had two Garmin portables GPS units, and when you lose the satellites it's a big deal. The speed sensor must be a big part of the GM nav ssytem. Even on the open road, it some times showed out of range. I'm not so sure about mounting a GPS antenna in a out of sight location. I might try attaching the metal base that came with the antenna and check another location and see what the signal is. Thanks for your help.:bonkers:

A hand held unit depends on the satellite to know where you are. The NAV system already has the roads on the DVD and it uses the speed sensor and compass to move you along on the map. It only checks the satellites to put you back on course every once and a while. You will notice that if you do not connect the speed sensor even though the GPS picks up your location you will never move on the screen since it does not use the GPS to track your motion unlike the handheld units.

:yup: Thanks again for the information. You saved me time by not taking the DVD nav unit out and moving the antenna. I'll leave everything where it's at.
