View Full Version : Installing HID's in an 03 CTS BishopRuger 06-28-05, 04:59 PM Just wondering if anyone has done this yet and how to do it. I just purchased my 03 CTS and I had an HID system in my trade-in that I removed and would like to add to teh CTS... I believe its the same bulb type (90006). Also would the dealer install the kit for me? I've got a set of OEM Xenon HID light assemblies in transit that I plan to install this weekend. My understanding is that you have to add an additional ground wire for the high beams. Other than that, they should fit without any additional modifications. Check "Tomm" how to do. He's completed the swap. Also, check this forum, for information on how to remove your factory light assemblies. I've changed the factory bulbs to SilverStars, had the light assemblies out. Pain in the a$$, but the Xenons will be worth the effort. RobertCTS 06-29-05, 09:26 AM I have the Service Manual print out if you'd like me to Fax it to you. It has nice diagrams too. BishopRuger 06-29-05, 09:49 AM Hey Robert that would be great if u could fax those over to me.. 617-246-7291

Sorry about that, didnt pay attention to the number I typed. If u could fax that again I'd greatly appreciate it. Well, I got an error message that said no signal. Is the Fax machine turned on?:hmm: BishopRuger 06-29-05, 11:18 AM Yup, sure is... It's actually my work fax # so that thing is never off. The 1st number ending in 7291 is my direct phone line at work sorry about that. The correct fax number should be 617-246-7642 and as far as I know it should be working. Thanks for taking the time and trying to fax me that info :). I've been dieing to install my HID's... RobertCTS 06-29-05, 11:35 AM Yup, sure is... It also rang busy but I kept it on auto redial. Did you get it?:hmm:
Edit: Fax just printed out another error report. I used your new number. Any ideas? BishopRuger 06-29-05, 11:44 AM Yes, I received it and thanks again.
Wow that's pretty freakin involved huh. Man, I might just leave the Halogens in for all that work, hahaha.. Not like my Chevy Tahoe. The bulb replacement for that was nice and easy. I'm just gonna call the dealership and pay for them to install the system for me. At least they have a better idea of what they're doing. I'd hate to fudge something up by doing it myself. Somebody here did it and had lots of pics. The whole front of the car was off.
I imagine a dealer will be very pricey. My dealer charges $65/hr in littletown Ohio. BishopRuger 06-29-05, 12:03 PM Yeah the dealership is awlays expensive... for everything, but after reviewing the diagrams u sent me it's a little too involved for me. I don't have space in my little @ss drive way either and no lift. Might just have to step up and pay the money, can't take more then 2 hours for a service tech at the dealership. I hope anyway, lol. wakeboarder010 10-08-07, 08:27 PM I have the Service Manual print out if you'd like me to Fax it to you. It has nice diagrams too.
RobertCTS i am going to install a HID kit in my 03' CTS and I saw that you have the service manual I was wondering if you would be able to email that to me so i could print it out.
