View Full Version : CTS Bra Barryware 06-28-05, 12:40 PM I'm looking for a Bra for my 05 CTS. Can anybody make a recommendation. I was looking at Colgan but that is a 4 week wait. Most of the bra's I have used in the past on other cars were Colgan so I don't really know if there is a better one available.
Before we get into why not to use one, I know that if not taken care of, they will ruin the paint on the car. I have had good luck with them. Usually they are off the car. I just put them on when I know I am going to blast down the highway or go on a long trip. I use it for protection and not for looks. They really do make a difference when it comes to rock chips and bug guts. When it comes off, the back of it gets cleaned. I usually use compressed air and a blow gun to get the dust and fine grit off the back of it so there is minimal risk to the finish of the car and fresh wax is laid down on the bumper, hood, and fenders before it gets put back on. BozzMan 06-28-05, 12:50 PM i have the colgan, it was worth the wait. fits perfectly. in my search i found no other sources. I have never seen a CTS with a bra... Got any pictures of yours installed? BozzMan 06-28-05, 03:08 PM i don't have a pics with the lower portion on yet as i only use it for long highway trips.

Bug splats and paint chips are preferable to a plastic cover. A bra is in such poor taste, so incredibly tacky and such a screaming sign of middle-class anxiety and fear of inferiority as to make one question the user's mental state.
It puts me in mind of white-collar workers who put name plates on their desk; a sure sign of class anxiety. As though they secretly thought they didn't deserve a desk and therefore needed to lay claim to the desk and whatever paltry prestige the desk offered. Barryware 06-29-05, 10:25 AM IrishTom,
Sounds to me like you have had a few drinks tonight. What did I say? I want the protection, I am not concerned about the looks. It is only used from time to time.
Maybe you are right.. Anyone who uses a bra on their car must have an inferiority complex. Or, maybe you are an idiot who drank too much and decided to visit the forum. Irishtom 06-29-05, 05:42 PM Barry--Nah, I don't drink. don't need liquor to think the way I do. It's just that I'm to the manor born and being descended from poets and kings have a certain disdain for the bourgeious (I hope I spelled that right) outlook.
In any case I'm far from idiotic. Boorish, condescending, off-the-wall, provocative; those things I can concede. But I never say anything stupid.
As my misanthropic Irish warrior-poet friend Collins says " I like people. Especially when they have big tits". Barryware 06-29-05, 06:11 PM Tom,
But I never say anything stupid. That in itself, is stupid. Have a great day. joeyblaze 06-29-05, 06:19 PM :hide: does any one have a dictionary

See through Bras was always a childhood fantasy.
I've been running the stock GM CTS Bra on my CTS for over a year. For the same reasons the OP first mentioned, rock chips and bugs, it works as described, fits very well, and the price was certainly better than other options.
I throw it in the washing machine while I'm cleaning the CTS and let it air dry before I put it back on.
No rips or any damage from a year's use. | |
