I was looking at my ashtray thinking, "Wouldn't it be cool to put some device or something in the ashtray?" I don't smoke, so putting ashes in it doesn't make sense. Has anyone used it for anything?

I had some controls in there... (my V does not have the SWC buttons)...

I also saw someone put a serius radio in there (picture on the FAQ).

You could also put the "super persuit mode" button in there, or any of the following:
- KITTs voicebox
- Dixie horn switch (think general lee)
- B.A.'s jewlery (think A-team)
- A switch to open the batcave
- Switch for hydraulics ala Snoop dog..

All the above are GREAT ideas..

Remove the ashtry it's self and you have an area for a compact cell phone. I really don't like the looks when the door is open. That's why I hard wired my detector to the mirror to keep the door closed.

Spare change holder has been my solution. I occasionally take a trip to the suburbia around Chicago and have to deal with the toll roads... Comes in handy.

Change, Gum, Keys, Condoms....whatever fits in there man?

I would like a ejector seat button or a turbo boost button like Knight rider use to have....that would be nice.

Think that's where my stereo guy is putting my Sirius unit, at least that's what he told me. I keep it open to plug in my Magellan GPS unit anyway so it's not a big deal to have it open all the time.........

I'm thinking it's for those sticky blueberries but coming from a college town, my perceptions of bowls may be a little skewed :p

Thanks for the suggestions, folks, but I was hoping for something a little more creative than spare change and the like. Sirius radio is a cool idea, and I liked the bat cave idea also. I'm just thinking that because there's power so close by (in the cigarette ligher), and because there are fewer people that smoke these days, that someone would have mounted some switches for some accessories, or maybe a 120V inverter outlet, or something like that in there.
