The stereo in the Lincoln should sound much better though...

Apparently the Lincoln LS V8 with 280 hp isn't as fast as the CTS. Do you guys have any stats?

Is that the V8? Only the THX Soundsystem is gonna sound better, and it does sound good! Did you get that one?

The LS can still be fun to drive..I drove the old V8 and it was sporty. There were suppose to be major engine/suspension mods for the newer one....

The picture is real pretty but something just doesn't FEEL right, there should be laws against mixing these breeds.

The '02 didnt have the THX.. It's got a 6 speaker alpine.

The '03+ has the 280hp and runs 15.0 in the 1/4. The CTS 3.6L does 14.9 or better. Our LS is the '02 with 252hp.

I was heavily looking into an '02 LSE before I picked up my CTS. Great cars, very sharp looking. Not as fast as the 3.6L, but they do nicely.

15? That's it? With 280 hp, I'd have guessed at least a 14.5. It must weigh, what, 38 or 3900 lbs? How does their sport model handle? The newer ones?

The '02 weighs about 3700-3800lbs I believe. Bout 200lbs more than the CTS.

I haven't driven the newer ones ('03-05). I have the selectshift (tiptronic), I dont like the fact that you can't put the car into 1st gear.

Yeah, thats a little wierd. That's something I wish the CTS had, some sort of sport shift. Our auto does a decent job of getting the right gear though. I've definitely had worse.

Anyhow, nice choice. I agree that it's a little weird to see a Caddy and a Lincoln in the same driveway, but I think I could deal with it. :)

Jon:

Where's the front plate for the Lincoln? Don't tell me Ontario ditched the front plate requirement?

Come to Alberta - we may not have a say federally, but our rides are free of non-aero front plates! ;)

Cool personalized plate on the CTS, tho... :coolgleam

They'll be on tomorrow.

Yea we still have the front plate requirement, I don't like it, so I made the best of it, got some cool custom plates. Thanks for the comment :)

3000sq ft or 30,000sq ft, looks pretty nice to me. Plus you have 2 nice cars. Good for you! I'd be proud.

What next? Someone going to post a picture of their CTS next to a three-year old Focus? Or a Caddy in his/her father's driveway next to his Mazda MPV? WGAF?

Two head to head competitors, the CTS & the LS both sharing the same driveway. You probably don't get it.:helpless:

You know what, one thread comparing the old used LS in terms of handling, performance, features, etc. vs the CTS would be great. After all, it's a Cadillac forum, and that would have something to do with Cadillac. Instead, there are multiple threads started by the same dood about this used car, c/w some bandwidth-hogging pic, and it is my opinon that these multiple threads belong on the "5-year-old Lincoln LS Owner's Forum" or some other more appropriate place. It would be the same if it was mommy's Infiniti G35, or little sister's BMW 318i, or some other "competitive" product.

Just my opinion. That's what we're still allowed to post in forums, right?

NICE. I love both of those cars. The LS is much more stately looking and the CTS is more edgy. drool...

If Cadillac had not come out with the CTS I would be driving a Lincoln LS. As a matter of fact, an all black (including the wheels) 2002 Lincoln LSE was sitting on the lot next to the CTS I bought but was priced $2000 less than my CTS. I actually had to think about it, but I do prefer the CTS. These two cars are direct competitors in the market and I think posts from a guy who owns both are warranted. (Jon - both cars are sweet!) Did you know that the founder of Cadillac, Henry Leland later founded Lincoln?

My first impression is Lincoln = Ho hum, Boring, The Same; Cadillac = Beautiful, Style, Different. Okay I'm a bias CTS owner. Really the Lincoln looks like so many other cars made by Honda, Toyota, etc. with their rounded edges and all. Something about the CTS that sets it off different from those is the rear end layout and the front end style.

The Lincoln looks Japanese or Korean, here's the Kia Optima, that I rented last month and 2 people asked me if I was drving a lincoln, NO JOKE!

Opinions are fine and invited. U just don't need to get Nasty. We're not interested in shitty opinions, just constructive ones. It's a good side by side comparison.

Both the CTS & LS look good IMO. My brother bought a V8 LS & I bought the CTS. I still feel I got the best car.
