| View Full Version : Is this the new cadillac cts? Anthony Cipriano 06-27-05, 12:57 PM i'm hearing around 300 hp as well. RobertCTS 06-27-05, 01:02 PM That looks like an artist's rendering to me. No body changes scheduled for '06. Stag 06-27-05, 01:40 PM I would say...no davesdeville 06-27-05, 02:24 PM Well it is due for a refresh in 07. I dunno if that's what it's going to look like, but if it is I approve. tomm 06-27-05, 02:51 PM That would be an awesome looking car is thats whats planned for 07. There would be a ton of Pre-07 CTS's for sale including mine. jteolis 06-27-05, 02:58 PM Its a different rendering, but the side louvers and sweep looks like the 2007 rendering I've seen, so yes, it MAY be the new CTS! odysseus 06-27-05, 03:02 PM It' definitely a rendering, but by whom is the question. It looks more like a Matt Groening animation from the V's debut on the Simpsons, not a real automotive artists rendering. Franchise2005 06-27-05, 05:04 PM Yeah if that car comes out in 07 my 05 is gone lol. Love the styling of the car and yeah the 300 hp is coming from a new type of fuel injection system gm has been working on not done yet but it will be in 07. GFiLA 06-27-05, 06:22 PM I was past of a focus group and this is very close to what was shown to us. The lovers were a little higher. RobertCTS 06-27-05, 06:25 PM I was past of a focus group and this is very close to what was shown to us. The lovers were a little higher. Can you explain more about your involvement and what a Focus group is?:hmm: bladehack 06-27-05, 07:10 PM Yeah if that car comes out in 07 my 05 is gone lol. I saw an Isuzu Axiom yesterday with a badge that said "Direct Injection". Did some web research and noticed that the design entails locating the fuel injectors inside the combustion chamber instead of the intake port... http://www.isuzu04.com/direct_injection_engine.jsp Since Isuzu makes the Duramax diesel for GM and this "direct injection" technology won Isuzu a "Best of the What's New" award form Popular Science in 2003 for its application in a gasoline engine, I'm wondering if Cadillac has adapted the "direct injection" technology for the 2007 CTS Quote from the Popular Science award: "Isuzu Direct-Injection V6 http://www.popsci.com/popsci/images/spacer.gifhttp://www.popsci.com/popsci/bown/2003/images/rl.gifIsuzu (http://isuzu.com/)Automakers abroad that need to squeeze more power from their engines with less gas often use direct-injection (DI) technology. Typically, DI blasts a lean (meaning light on gasoline) air-fuel mixture directly into the cylinder. Trouble is, that lean air-fuel mixture creates high levels of nitrous oxide emissions. Isuzu approached DI in a different way. Since DI engines also allow for higher compression ratios than a typical fuel injector, Isuzu pumps a standard air-fuel mixture into the cylinder, but at high pressure. This added pressure makes the gas burn so much more efficiently that the new Isuzu Axiom—equipped with the first DI engine sold in a mainstream American vehicle—generates 250 horsepower (20 more than last year's model) while squeezing out 2 more miles per gallon. And it's EPA-certified as a low-emissions vehicle." BozzMan 06-27-05, 07:21 PM that looks like a friggin' cartoon to me. it reminds me of that seinfeld episode where George has his boss airbrushed into a photograph and was pissed cause it looked like a cartoon. as far as the car goes it doesn't look much different from the current CTS and the things that are different i don't even like. the driving/fog lights are horizontal and not vertucal like they currently are. (YUCK!) the grille looks like a Chrysler grille (YUCK!) the decklid is shorter (okay) ther louvers on the frenders are probably not functional (might as well add a fake hood scoop or even port holes) bottom line ... it doesn't ring my bell at all. | |
