Did anyone hear about this? Howard Hughes's 1953 Buick Roadmaster set a record for Buick values at a Barret-Jackson auction a few months ago. $1.62 million.

I'm pretty surprised at the big rise in car auction values over the past year.

Check out these values earlier this year (and prepare to cry):

Comparing the prices to even last year, they are insane!!

Defiinately should have kept the old Charger from HS!

I emailed the Olds 442 prices to my Dad and I'm sure he'll regret seeing them! Some now over $100,000!

These are DEFINATELY record prices...I cannot get over that Chevelle for $324,000!!

What else would you expect from the days when REAL cars were made?

Ya but $324,000!!! for a '70 chevelle??!! I mean you could buy a new Ferrari and have change left over.

This is a LOT higher than the 1988 value peak. My buddy that year from my hometown had a nice '70 TA Challenger. We're talking about new red paint with the simple, standard "Dog Dish" hubcaps and it sold to a rich lawyer in Calgary for $18,500. But OVER a quarter million was unheard of until now! :bonkers:

I'll take the 300, my word, what a beauty.
