TANK REMOVAL

1. Back car onto ramps ( or put on jack stands). Tank is below rear seat of car more or less....brakes/ blocks...

2. Disconnect battery

3. Remove fuel.....( We just had 4 gallons or so.........don't do it with a full tank unless you have large containers for storage.

4. Disconnect electrical harness on back of fuel tank. Disconnect hose by fuel filter.......press white plastic tabs and pull out....(this would be 3rd hose on Fuel Pump. Disconnect 1st and 2nd lines from fuel pump.....this can also be done once tank is lowered.......these also have plastic tabs.

5. Disconnect 2 fuel filling Rubber tubing from tank......screwdriver.

5. Remove screws that hold heat shield above muffler line 8mm (right side of car).........otherwise you can't reach the front right strap screw.........

7. Remove front strap screws, and rear strap screws.........total 4 screws 1/2 inch. Remove straps

8 Use jack to lower tank.

9 Lower tank.........disconnect line 1 and 2 if not done so already....

PUMP REMOVAL/ EXCHANGE PUMP WITH OLD HOUSING REUSED.

1. Use 2 hammers to knock out holding ring.

2. Carefully remove fuel pump.

3. Disconnect wire harnesses

4. Press tabs and remove pump unit.......

5. Install new pump into old housing.....(you may need to cut rubber house to same height as old pump)

Note: One of my wires. from 4 wire harness from the old pump was fried, so we jimmed one wire through the hole in the harness...

6. Solder, and electric tape new wires.......

7. Close up Fuel Pump unit.

8. Install back into tank..........

REINSTALL TANK.....

1. Get that right side, by the firewall, up first, use and jack and a friend.

2. Connect all hoses.

3. Connect electrical harness.

4. Connect straps.

5. Connect firewall

7. Start her up, your done!
