Nice video - must like living on the edge with the large parking lot hazards!

Supercars is referring to the Goodyear F1 tires.

we had plenty of room to spare, maybe a good foot or two from the poles. yea it has the F1 outback, they do a great job on the car.

I got it up to like 1.18 I believe :) I was being a bit easy on it since there were so many poles around. It was my first time driving a V so I was extra careful as well :)

I liked the car a lot and was very impressed!! Very nicely balanced and handled really well especially for a stock car.

Here is the car I actually compete with.

Must only be the Magnacharged black V's that can hook up and kick some ass :Poke:

Now that statement just doesn't make any sense.. :hmm:
I have always noticed that the "under powered cars" the Black ones.. are the ones that seem to hook up pretty easy.
And that the cars with more power "the Platinum ones" that have trouble hooking up is because they just have so much damn power all they can do is spin the tires...:burn: :tease:

Yeah, that sounds better...:2thumbs:

I'm just amazed at the lack of wheelhop. Maybe the lateral loads had alot to do with it?

Dado, in the car, did you notice or feel any hop?

CVP33
06-17-05, 10:43 PM
I can duplicate the drifting in the video and frankly have on ocassion. The V does not hop when your out of shape. If you're adventurous try the following. Go into a sharp curve around 20mph in second gear, midway through the turn slam the throttle. You start your drift and just saw the wheel back and forth leaving rubber the whole way and no hop. Once you break traction sideways it's very easy to control and maintain. In fact, just sit in a parking lot, lock the steering wheel full left or right and floor it. No hop, just spin. Unfortunately it's when you try to launch straight ahead that the hop gets you everytime.

well you can download the teasers here.
http://www.dtmpower.net/videos/videos1.html

The DVD can be bought at your local dvd store such as best buy, circuit city, sam goodies, etc... Best Buy is your best bet. We have 5 DVD's currently out www.teckademics.com

I use a Valentine 1 for radar detector and been using it for the last 5 years.

M3's have wheel hop as well when launching so it's not really a new thing for me. Since I am not into drag racing I haven't experienced the wheel hop problems in the V.

Hey dado, how did you manage to drift the V without an e brake. Also, if you really wanted to get into some drifting compitions with the V, would you really need the e-brake?

Hey dado, how did you manage to drift the V without an e brake. Answer: This is a 400hp RWD car.

Amazing what you can do with alot of power and Correct Wheel Drive.

Well the man has skillz, pure and simple. now that all the B/S is out of the way... you use the ebrake to control ur speed in the drift, you dont use it to start the drift. as far as a ebrake setup goes, Tilton ebrake setup and a proportional valve. this was only done in 2nd gear, so entry speed is not as high as he is used to in his M3. 3rd, 4th gear.

dannystang

I think the technique is on a (right turn), jerk left, floor it right, cross your fingers, close your eyes, keep it floored, turn wheel left and jerk it right through turn.

Ofcourse I have been to the body shop more then most.

lol, well its all in practice, also dont forget to let go of the weel so the car come back, odd feeling but as u can see it works. come on up. we can give you some lessons and a ride. also do ur install on ur maggie for you...

Dado DTM
06-23-05, 09:44 PM
I can just imagine "Free ride after maggie install, taking orders now!! Puke bag included" :D

As 502slow mentioned there is no need for the ebrake. Ebrake is actually frowned upon for starting a drift, you can only use it to control the angle while in drift. To start the drift you mostly use weight transfer called feint. In this case the speeds weren't as high so I had to resort to other methods of breaking it lose.

Dado,

What exhaust setup are you running? Do you have cats or mufflers? I have a custom exhaust with an x-pipe right now that exits out the rear of the car, but I am adding long-tube headers without cats very soon and just trying to get a video clip of a V with similar exhaust mods. I want it to be throaty and loud but not obnoxious when driven tamely. Thanks for any insight.

PM sent with details of the car. The exhaust is made for track use only. Custom LT and side exit exhaust, no cats no mufflers... If and when you add the LT make sure you have the car tuned.

So far the best header we have used in the Stainless works LTs. Tpis is a good company and is known for good workmanship, so i am sure they are good headers. Yes, i can sell you the headers. With LT no cats and Xpipe with Flowmasters, it will be very very loud. Some will not like it, i think it will sound great. With the LT don't forget you will need a tune, also you will need HO2S simulator if you go without the cats. With the mods that you have a S/c would really open her up nice and take full advantage of the LT and free flowing exhaust. If you wanted to stay NA a good heads and cam package would also be nice and with the exhaust you are running the cam would sound great. Well if you have any questions at all please feel free to email me or call me direct, and any work or parts that you need can be installed here for you. thanks
