: Not Even FWD Could Save Me Today!
02-17-03, 03:58 PM
Anyone been hit by the mid atlantic storm? I'm here in the Ohio Valley where there is over a foot of snow on the ground. As I tried to pull in, my car got stuck....another 6 feet and my car would have been safely out of the alley and into a spot!

I got to play with my plow today. I had a blast because its like only my second time this season

We got two feet and I went out in my wife's Denali to the in-laws so I could dig them out (used a snowblower actually).
02-17-03, 05:51 PM
About 6" here and still snowing.:(
02-17-03, 06:06 PM
again....what is this snow stuff I keep hearing about? J/K :D
02-17-03, 06:11 PM
We have about a foot here, and it just refuses to stop. It took me about 1.5 hours to snowblow the driveway and sidewalk, where it normally takes about 30 mins.
02-17-03, 06:26 PM
Mad'lac.....it looks like this...:D
02-17-03, 06:37 PM
oh so thats snow. Well why on earth would any one put up with that stuff? Arizona might sound nice right about now huh.
02-17-03, 08:24 PM
Snow?? I've seen that stuff on the news! Looks nasty! It was partly cloudy here today but the sun finally popped through about 10:00

No snow here, but we did get 8" of rain in the last three days. Lots of flooding and a few landslides. If it were snow it would be over the roof. Come on spring!

Nothing can compare to good ol sleding!!
02-17-03, 11:16 PM
need a snomobile? I've driven to school and a sled before..it got some looks :D
02-17-03, 11:22 PM
Actually, I whipped out my uncles old snowmobile this weekend, its a old Mercury snow twister. Its going to be more of a project than I anticipated, since it has been sitting for 10 years. Had some nice varnishing in the carbs, and all the hoses need to be replaced. One more day of work and ill be sleding!!! While I was there my lakehouse, I drove our old Jeep Cj7 ON THE LAKE! The ice is about 2ft thick, so no problems there. We took the tahoe on the lake too instead of taking the road, a different experience. I have been going there for my whole life, and it seems weird to picture driving in the same place where you normally drive a boat!! I got stuck in a drift about 10 ft from the house. D'OH!!!!!
02-17-03, 11:27 PM
lol at hitting a drift. Ive been bashing them in the cherokee
02-17-03, 11:46 PM
Well see we were going down the channel that is right next to the house, and the drift didnt look too bad, and it was really about 4 ft high. It just got snow up to the frame! And traction on ice isnt the greatest anyway.....
02-17-03, 11:57 PM
too much fun
02-18-03, 10:47 AM
oh yes, but it was worth it :D
02-18-03, 11:09 AM
yeah.. im still stuck... its done snowing... but the idiots at my apartment havent plowed yet... and my bald tires dont help either :(
02-18-03, 11:10 AM
02-18-03, 12:28 PM
Bald tires make snow that much more fun
02-18-03, 04:10 PM
Not when you have to stop or turn.....
02-18-03, 09:28 PM
oh yeah it is, ever hear of power slide? :D
02-18-03, 09:30 PM
Power slides, familiar with those. Cant do it too much in the GTP, unless i hit the emergency brake, but tahoe is good.
BTW, I guarntee you wont think its too fun if you do a power slide and do some median off-roading!!

We don't take the Cadillac out in the snow, but we do have fun in the truck. We have a Nissan Hardbody that we like to take out in the white stuff. Too much fun! We live in Blacksburg, VA, right next to Virginia Tech, and while all the school boys' Hondas were stuck in the parking lots, we went out and did some figure 8s and lots of power slides in the vast empty parking lots!
I'm trying to teach my wife how to drive a stick (Nissan is a stick), and it's a lot easier in the snow than on pavement. :) I just leave it in 2wd and if she accidentally pops the clutch out, the tires just spin rather than jerk you around.
I'll take snow over smog anyday. After a while, smog makes you look like this :alien: or eventually like this

Actually, today in the Q, i attempted to do a powerslide around a corner and got stuck. DOH. Fortunately, some guy came out and helped me push out.
02-25-03, 10:56 PM
I was comming around an exit ramp on 30 onto I-380 and went good all the way around till I hit the big road and instead of following the fog line I slid sideways right on the the interstate
02-26-03, 03:42 PM
that could have been disaterous!!!
02-26-03, 10:57 PM
yeah I was slightly puckered because I dont have a driver side rear view mirror (damn thives  ) to see what i was going to slide into :D It had my attention to say the least
02-27-03, 03:38 PM
im sure it did. It was in the sled, right?
