Don't want to bore everyone here with every car I've owned. At 55 let's just say I've owned 'em all at one time or another, LOL. Last two were Monte SS, the '04 was supercharged and if they made a rear wheel drive model I'd have another one. I wanted to go back to RWD this year and the CTS fit the bill. After I get done "tweaking" it out the ponies will be there for at least the year I keep it. Ran over 40K miles in the last nine months so cars don't last long with me. Looks like a V when the auto tranny comes out next year..........

33 Cars, 17 Accidents, 2 Totalled, 2 Repossessed

I listed all of these just to lead up to expressing my thoughts about the Eldorado I bought a couple weeks ago now. Of all the cars I have owned, there is nothing that even touches this in refinement, comfort, smoothness, power, handling, and pleasure. I hate to rave about it too much so soon (don't want to jinx it/myself), but can't help stating the pure joy and peaceful pleasure it brings me just to look at it, sit in it, and especially drive it.

The quiet smoothness of it leaves me speechless just driving it around the corner. It doesn't even feel like any car I have ever driven or been in that I can remember. It is like it is in some other category. To know what I paid for it too compared to new cars I looked at and drove recently, seems out of this world. I know like anything today, you can get a good one or bad one. But right now the way this one drives, how solid it feels, and how quiet and smooth the whole experience in it is, I can't imagine any new car being better at any price. Whatever dollars it may cost me to keep up over the few remaining years of my life, will seem like a pittance I am sure compared to the value of what it is and the joy and peaceful excitement it brings.

I would recommend to any and everyone that it is worth it to find and buy a good used one of these and put the tens of thousands of dollars you save over buying some other new car aside to keep it looking and running like new, and pay for the gas you need to put in it the rest of it's life. Right now I personally can't imagine anything to make me want to own a different car at this point in my life. What could be better than this!

PS. And that doesn't speak to the fun of belonging to this forum and sharing the thoughts and opinions of others like yourself.

There are already two threads, identical to this one, in CF. They sporadically get a hit or two. When I find one, this thread will be merged with it - that action will bump it back into recent history. Thanks for searching for threads that already exist...............

This is an old thread, but the same info request as one started last night. Merged.

I'm sure its not a complete list but all I can recall at the moment.

All were purchased new and later sold (or still owned) with the exceptions of: (1) 1962 Corvair was a gift, later abandoned in a tree, (2) 1984 Honda Nighthawk was totaled by a 3rd party, (3) 1993 Infiniti was leased, (4) 1995 Pontiac Formula was totaled by a 3rd party, (5) a 1991 Ford Probe and a 1993 Acura Integra were inherited and quickly sold. With the exceptions of the Toronado, Ford Ranger and 2011 Mustang, all were tan or white, if available. In the case of those 2 Fords, deals on white ones fell through at the last minute. All were manual transmission, if available.

1966 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 Deluxe 4 dr. sedan: gift from grandmother (college). Metallic green with tan interior. 283 V8 with 4 bbl. and 3 speed automatic. Pretty fast for a sleeper car.
1984 Ford Escort GT: first new car, leased, but ordered it from Ford just exactly like I wanted it. Light Desert Tan Clearcoat Metallic. Wildly fun car--wish I still had it.
1989 Ford Festiva
1979 Lincoln Continental Town Coupe: favorite car I've ever owned. Dark Champagne, with Champagne 1/4 padded vinyl roof and Champagne leather interior and those beautiful deep dish aluminum wheels. Last year of the really, really huge Lincolns. This one got ALOT of looks--really gorgeous motor car.
1991 Ford Festiva: had to show the wife I could be practical. Stupidly traded the Lincoln in on this one. Reliable car, but I shouldn't have ever parted with the Lincoln.
1983 Chevrolet Malibu Classic wagon: absolute lemon! Worst car I've ever had.
1992 Cadillac Sedan DeVille: beautiful dk. blue with dk. blue carriage roof, dk. blue leather interior. Lots of electrical issues though...
1991 Cadillac Brougham: beautiful Antelope Firemist, with Antelope leather interior. LOVED this one too!
1997 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series: Performance White with Cordovan leather interior. Great car, smooth running, luxurious, still in nice condition. This is my daily driver now.

Closest I've come was in sim racing. The rules said you had to have a car maker in the team name. All the good ones were taken, so I chose Yugo Downalap. Which was fitting since the alien driver's nickname happened to be Blue Bayou.

1974 buick apollo 4 door metallic brown with painted white top. Been in the family since '76. Sold due to rot, but is still around town.
1982 trans am. Was a gift for my 16th birthday. Black with gold stripes and black/ grey 2 tone cloth interior and T-Tops. Was well optioned and looked pretty nice, but had nasty floor pan rot (probably from leaking T tops) that wasn't worth fixing, so it got junked.
1983 lesabre limited sedan. Bought in 2009. Triple burgundy. Still have it
1986 fleetwood brougham. Bought in 2010. Tan/ brown top. Still have it
1997 safari slx. Bought in 2011. Pearl grey with stripes. Totalled.
2000 safari high top conversion. Bought in 2011. White w/ gold striped. Still have it.

You were being far too generous. A more appropriate name would have been Yugo Garagewarmer.
