I hope someone can help me with the nightmare that has been gradually developing with my Seville SLS (1994). Last evening when I was driving home at dusk a rainstorm developed in NJ (before the sensor turned on the lights) I decided to turn on the lights with my windshield wipers - when I did my speedometer went to 140 my tach redlined - the ABS light and Brake Light came on - my dashboard looked like the 4th of July. All my computer readings with the exception of mileage, oil change info, and trip were zero out. My mileage was switched from average to instant and it showed LO fuel despite having a full tank, and my heater controls were changed from Economy to Auto. I drove on since this has happened before - but this time it continued for about 3/10 of a mile - and the engine was cutting out. I pulled over and checked the service codes. (I had just cleared them that morning because of a persistant P039 transaxle code that sets about every 10 miles or so).
These are the codes that were set: P016, P053, I052, S013, S016, S018, S023, S028
I052, I053 Are intrupts and reboots that were triggered by a drop in signal = but this is the first time I got hit with suspension codes -- are they the problem or the result of the problem?
As I have mentioned in the past occasionally I had outage where the computer would reset but never this drastically. And the cause I still cannot understand - one time it was reset when I moved the shift lever to park, another time was when I moved the turn signal -- there seems to be no pattern in when it resets.
I have had one other quirky problem = my taillight bulb connection rusted because of moisture collectin in the passenger trunk taillight housing - at times the result was that the taillight would blink out of sequence with the other turn light and give me a very fast blinking sound. Just recently the drivers turn indicator started to act the same way.
During the winter months when it was below 30 I would always get a P110 NO CHARGE - but it only happens during fridget temperatures.
The only other code that I get with regularity is the P039 -- which seems to being happening more and more recently.
I love this car -- but don't have a wheelbarrow load of money to invest in a technician doing guess work -- could someone please please give me some suggestions or possibilities of what may be happening?

That looks like electric power interruption problem or short somewhere. If something like this happened computer may set a lot of codes, and most of them will not mean anything. Suspension codes are result not the problem. If something wrong with the suspension you will get a "Service Ride Control" message, not much more. All ressetings say the power/grounding is a problem. Don't waste your time for checking battery or alternator. Simptoms of bad battery or alternator look differently. It looks like intermittent short somewhere or bad grounding. Very fast blinking sound gave you a tip about short too. P039 isn't related to that intermittent problem also.

It looks to me as if your taillight housing is in such bad condition, that many times, when turning on a certain light, braking that certain light it shorts, and possibly sends that short straight to the computer, which resets, among other things.
