Hey All,
I am a relatively new poster(although I have read many of the old topics), so I hope I am not asking a redundant question. At some point between now and the end of the summer (hopefully) I will be in the market to do some mods to my V, but I was wondering, what mods (bolt-ons, etc.) could I add to the car without voiding the warranty. Just looking to gain some horsepower, nothing drastic. Also, has anyone put a spoiler on their V, and if so, where was it purchased and for how much? Later everyone.
There have been many discussion on this. But to be clear, here's what the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act says:
Legally , a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure of the vehicle.
This doesn't mean they won't fight you tooth and nail, but the burden of proof is on them.
I have parts from Lingenfelter, UUC, More, TPIS, B&B, BMR and others on my V. But if something major goes wrong, I'll still try to get it fixed under warranty. And my differential has been replaced and some minor things have been done under warranty with no problem.

It really depends were you go I guess. Some dealers shun away from anything performance, were as we,....embrace it. Try shopping around at your local dealer, or one in the area, it's as simple as a phone call away. See what they say. In the meantime, have fun and enjoy your ride!

Thanks for the info fellas, I think I will give the dealer a call and see how they feel about performance mods. :yup: I have to go in there anyway tomorrow and get the SDM replaced (damn recalls).
Mod's that will not void warranty:
Christmas tree air freshner
Type R emblem
Phat Daddy windshield banner
Under car neon
Light up valve stem covers
Skunk stripe down the middle of the car (must be centered)
Dash cover
Sheep skin seat covers (must be cowhide pattern)
Twin windshield wiper blades (preferably chrome or neon color)
That about covers it. Glad to be of service as usual.
