It would be good to have some few statistics preparatory to an answer letter. Cadillac: "Remain calm; all is well." Lasstss: "Sirs: Prior to sending my first letter, X members of a population of Y CTS-V owners experienced a total M differential failures. Since sending that letter, another Z members have experienced a further N failures." A little anecdotal evidence from the 300C forum about (what I expect will be) the lack of rear end problems in 300C and 300C SRT8 vehicles probably wouldn't hurt. lasstss 06-07-05, 04:30 PM It would be good to have some few statistics preparatory to an answer letter. I had also included the 300C forum response to the cadillac rear issues. Just so they know its a well known issue, along with Getrag's indifferent response. ahahnu 06-07-05, 10:57 PM I was wondering whatever came about with this yesterday. Thank you again for doing for us. How many did we end up sending in? I think it was Motor Trend that said the CTS-V chased after the M3 where the STS-V goes after the M5. How do the German rearends hold up? Everywhere I look in the "mainstream" magazines they mention "German" in comparison or direct impact on design and performance. HDMLNIUM 06-07-05, 11:25 PM When I was at the dealer today meeting the Service Manager for the first time we talked about this as being my biggest and really only concern. The funny part of the whole thing is he new who I was right away and said how he new how I liked my mods on Vehicles. :lildevil: :shhh: So that broke the ice and we started talking for a while. I told him that I have a full exhaust on it with Headers, high flow cats and a cat back. I told him that I put a different shifter in it and that was it so far. He didn't seem to have any problem with that and I told him that that made me happy. He asked me "What about a wheel hop kit" Then I said I just so happen to have one that I was getting ready to put on and asked him if he was OK with that. He said sure anything that will help the car live longer was fine by him. So making a trip to the dealer to see why they sent me the wrong o2 sensor paid off and now as soon as I get my car back on the road I can take it in and have them program my vin into my computer so I can get this thing tuned. He said to bring her in and he would gladly take care of it for me. So what started as a bad afternoon for getting the wrong o2 sensor turned into a pretty good one after talking with my Service Manager. I should have the right o2 tomorrow when I get out of work. I told him the Denali that I traded in on the CTS-V ran 12.7's at the track and he got a kick out of it. I put her all back to stock before I traded her in, and she still had a year and a half and and 24k miles or so left on the factory warantee so the person that bought it should be in good shape. Anyway Martin, thanks for all your hard work and I hope this goes someplace. The service manager did say they have changed quite a few diff seals in the regular CTS so he knows that there is a major problem with the diff in these cars. He also stated that he thought that these cars should take every bit of the 400 h.p. that Cadillac put into them without the Diff's puking like they have been. So as long as I don't go crazy with the mods I feel my dealer is going to take great care of me even having a few mods without having to take them off before going in for warantee work..:coolgleam Bill http://photobucket.com/albums/v466/HDMLNIUM/th_front-1.jpghttp://photobucket.com/albums/v466/HDMLNIUM/th_engine-yeah.jpghttp://photobucket.com/albums/v466/HDMLNIUM/th_rear-1.jpg 05 CTS-V--- Light Platinum Llumar Clear Bra and Tinted windows, LS6 Emblem, Stealth-V z06 fuel rail covers K&N drop in filter, B&B Headers-high flow cats-3" resonator exhaust, UUC shifter, BMR kit Online Photos http://photobucket.com/albums/v466/HDMLNIUM/ | |
